Hm, I haven't much felt like being online lately. I'm not sure why... Possibly I'm just too lazy, which doesn't make sense seeing as being online all the time is generally how I manifest my laziness.

Christmas went well, if somewhat uneventfully. We went down to Davis on Christmas Eve and opened presents and ate dinner (mmm, so much good food!). My cousin Todd, Ryan, and I played Uno for a while, and this somehow disintegrated into us throwing the Uno cards at each other and making a mess with them. It was a lot of fun. XD We went home around 10 PM, after doing the now-customary sit-around-in-the-living-room-and-talk-about-our-pets.

The day after that, we headed down to Petaluma for Christmas with my dad's side of the family. We listened to Sousei no Aquarion OSTs, Turn A Gundam OSTs, and The Pillows on the way down, but the ride was shorter than usual because we were going to Petaluma and not Marin. :( It was so strange going somewhere else for Christmas! (My grandma sold her house and moved into an apartment, so we went to my aunt's house for the Christmas festivities.)

We spent most of the time down there with our cousins Chris and Jordan, avoiding the adults and little cousins as much as possible, and causing mischief. Dinner was long in coming, so for some reason I can't entirely explain, we started burning chips in the candles. XD It smelled awful, but it was oddly fun. Of course, then we were caught and semi-lectured, but...haha, I'm afraid it was still fun. For some reason, Aunt Nancy kept trying to take the burnt chips away from us, so we hid them and laughed to ourselves when she kept interrogating us about them. In order to relieve our pyro tendencies, we were given an admittedly rather fun board game that amused us until dinner was ready. Dinner was pretty good. We left after dessert, and listened to the Ashura-jo no Hitomi OST and 23ji no Ongaku on the way back. We opened presents from dad when we got home.

Presents-wise, I did...fairly good this year. I'm not going to make a big list because I primarily got a good chunk of money, and a lot of the things I got were clothing items that I'll never wear. O_o; I have no idea why my grandma on my dad's side is so obsessed with getting me clothes that I'm about 95% sure she KNOWS I will not wear. Some of my favorite things I got were Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue version, the limited edition of the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, a Pikachu figure, and some gift cards for Amazon.com.

As for my Christmas money, I already spent...a few hundred (WHAT I AM NOT OBSESSED WITH YOKO KANNO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?) on mostly Yoko Kanno CDs from CDJapan. Once those arrive, I will have every full anime OST she's ever done. ^^;; I need to start getting more of her live action stuff and game stuff if I can, though I already have a few of her live action OSTs so that shouldn't be too terrible. (Though it appears tokyo.sora and Mizu no Onna are out of print. Sob. ;_; I will try to find them anyway.)

Anyway, I'm thankful that I have enough to buy almost all of the Yoko Kanno CDs I wanted, put some money aside for AX and Fanime and cosplay projects, and probably be able to make it through Anime LA okay.

Speaking of Anime LA, Aubrey and I are leaving on January 2nd to stay at one of our con friends' houses for a few days, and then going to Anime LA. I'm a little nervous just because we have a long drive ahead of us, my stomach pains could possibly occur down there (hopefully they won't), money is tight because I have to save about $200 for cosplay and future cons, and I know everyone else is going to be drinking. I know they're not going to be drinking all the time or anything, but I don't like being around drunk people. :/ It'll probably be just fine and turn out to be a lot of fun, though, so despite my nervousness I'm definitely looking forward to it.

It snowed today! I didn't expect it to, but mom mentioned on the phone that it was snowing, so I went outside and...lo and behold, it was! There's about an inch or so on the ground, which is pretty good for Penn Valley. I'll bet there's more at dad's house! I hope it continues to snow throughout the night, simply because snow is pretty and makes me happy.

I did so little today, it's ridiculous. I just watched TV and...um. Took the dogs outside periodically. Took care of the chickens. That's about it.

I finished reading A Fine and Private Place by Peter S. Beagle (ah, my favorite author ♥) yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it to everyone. It's a quick read, only around two hundred pages I believe, and it's definitely an interesting take on death and what happens afterward. The characters are great, and I loved their development throughout the novel... It was a beautiful, profound read.

I've been having extremely bizarre but vivid and colorful dreams lately. Generally my dreams are such a random mishmash of things that they make no sense, but lately my dreams have been surprisingly sensical, albeit in a weird way. They'll make awesome stories, actually, so I'm planning on writing a few of them. I started the first one in a notebook last night when I couldn't sleep.

I need to watch more anime now.
