This is going to be a very bland entry. I can feel it already. I did very little all weekend other than surf the web, feed the birds, and watch anime. Granted, that's better than I've been in a while (as it was usually just the former two that I did), so I feel stupidly accomplished, but that's not the point. Don't make fun of my lack of a life. ._.;
Not a lot happened Saturday. Ryan and I watched the second Naruto movie (took me long enough... >.>), which was...fun. I mean, you know. Essentially better animated filler is all it is, and it manages to be amusing enough taking that into account, but it's not nearly as glorious, moving, or monumental as the series itself [filler arcs aside]. I was glad to see Shikamaru. The movie felt like a serious Fullmetal Alchemist/Laputa crossover, so that was a little...crack-ish, but the animation amused me so much I didn't find myself caring too much about the strangeness of the plot. I liked the random SasuNaru scene stuck in there. I also liked the ferret.
After doing lots more nothing, once I put the birds to bed, I watched more Arjuna (namely, up through episode seven).
And you know--it has its definite, distinct flaws, and it is extremely heavy-handed in getting its points across--but I really like it. The transformation scenes bother me (and the fact that Juna has to transform in the first place ._.;), as does Ashura and a few other things, but...I really do like it. It's made a definite impression on my mind and there's something about the way it uses its storytelling, characters, and high production values (ha, had to put that in there) to make its points. Yes, they are very extreme points, and they can't get enough of shoving them in your face, but underneath all that, it's a lovely, interesting story. I don't know--I guess it's one of those series where I recognize what's wrong with it and even cringe in some parts, but I don't care because I *personally* like it and it totally mesmerizes me. I don't think I can describe the feeling the show gives me. :)
Also, there is an Isolated Score option on the DVDs, along with unreleased completely awesome Yoko Kanno music in the series, so you bet as soon as I have time to do so, I'm definitely ripping all the unreleased songs and making some new Yoko Kanno CDs. ♥ You have NO IDEA how happy this makes me.
Today...wow, I didn't get much sleep last night because my jays woke me up at 7 AM screeching for food. Loudly. x.x I had some minor exasperations with the three bigger stellar's jays today--they screeched for most of the day for food, and it turns out only one of them is self-feeding and the other two want me to handfeed them. So, I kept leaving them food in a dish hoping they'd eat it (only the one did), and they'd knock it all over their cage the second I left the room. So, I spent a lot of time preparing food for them today, and hand-feeding them, too. I wouldn't mind the hand-feeding so much except that they never seem to be full. Hahaha. I couldn't decide if I was annoyed or amused by their behavior today.
The three littler guys were totally fine today, although as I was trying to put them to bed they all got out and were hopping around my room. I couldn't help giggling about this--they looked so silly.
I read so much about Haruhi today. XD;; The people on the Anime News Network forum had some really, really, *really* intriguing insights into it that I had overlooked, so now I want to watch what I have of the show all over again. And here I was oh-so-skeptical when someone said this might be the new Eva. Really, it might. Really, there is so, so, so much to this series. I can't wait to see more--I'm dazzled by it.
The theme song! The theme song has so many secrets! I completely disregarded them! OMG! I'm going to freak out over this series. Really. I'm so glad I got into it now.
Anyway, I went to Mom's at about 4 PM, we dropped by Rusty's to visit the chickens and draw diagrams of the chicken coop, then went to Mom's house and did chicken coop-related stuff despite the fact I've been feeling pretty icky the last two days, especially at night. I'm all congested and have a sore throat and gunk in my throat and chest. It comes and goes, but I want to go and stay away.
