I accomplished nothing today. I just sat around and...sat around...and pretty much sat around some more.

And now, at 12:33 AM, I suddenly am having these random flashes of inspiration to draw and write and do all these really awesome things. And see, I would, but I have to be up by 11 AM at the latest tomorrow so I can go to my songbird care meeting. And I need a lot of sleep...

I'm now under the impression that my muse is nocturnal. At least Dad got the computer in my room here working again (that's what I'm writing on right now), so I'll now have a much easier time retreating into quiet so I can write, but it still seems my muse intentionally picks bad times to rouse itself.

Went through a few hours of desperation today, though I was mostly distracted enough not to think about things. I really...gah, it's like the more I think about things the more I realize how much I just...don't want to give up, and how far from reality I am at this point. Well, I'm going to go get in bed at least, though who knows how long it'll be before my muse concludes that no amount of its pestering me can rouse me to write or draw tonight. At that point it'll hopefully curl up and go to sleep--allowing me to do the same.

As a result of a discussion on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes, I ended up creating a little community called [livejournal.com profile] chickenstories.

Anyone is free to join, even just to read the stories or whatever.

I have my songbird meeting in a little over an hour... I'm excited!

The bird class today was awesome. All the people in the Songbird Organization are really supportive and friendly towards me (especially seeing as I'm very enthusiastic and also the youngest person in the organization), so I'm already making lots of friends and such. The class was really informative and interesting, and I even managed to get some difficult questions on the identifying juvenile species of birds quiz right, despite how much of a novice I am. :D So, I've now taken 16 hours of wildlife rehab training--which is four times the amount the State of California requires to have a permit. And I'm taking two more classes (one on gathering supplies before rehab and one on bird first aid) in the next three weeks. I'm really enjoying getting involved in this whole thing.

The rest of the day was extremely boring, though. I did a quick update on [livejournal.com profile] naruffrec and was planning on doing a lot more, but then I became lazy (and was distracted by a special on an elephant orphanage on 60 Minutes). So...I guess the rest of my recs will have to wait for now. Reccing things is a lot harder than it looks... :p

I'm thinking about writing now, but I'm not sure if my muse is around or not. I had this brilliant Team Seven fanfic idea last week but didn't feel like actually doing anything about it, so now I'm thinking about writing that--but now I don't remember what the theme/primary symbol/ideas behind it were going to be. Like...I remember the scenario, but I don't remember what made the scenario anything particularly special. O_o; I could always just write whatever comes to my mind--but then I worry I'll get caught on a plot snag or start to realize (this happens sometimes) that what I'm writing completely contradicts itself.

I still want to write that Kouya/Yamato fanfic, but I still have to do serious research before anything happens with that. That and I still don't know what I want it to be about.

I talked on the phone very briefly with KK (who is still unsure as to when we can talk--which is not good because it's fairly urgent, and I don't feel like I can talk to anyone else about it (Cody included) until I talk to her), and then had a humorous phone discussion with Makayla about how Snakes on a Plane, Orochimaru, Burns from the Simpsons, and "It's a conspiracy, just like the rattlesnakes!" are related, and how we're now apparently enlightened because we figured this out. It's just like figuring out FLCL all over again! Except a little less cool... But that's not the point.

Hmmm. Maybe going to read some good fanfics will inspire me further.
