Sleep-deprived but happy.
Oct. 23rd, 2004 11:25 amThe majority of yesterday was boring in the most extreme sense of the word. I sat around, ate Cheez-its, watched re-runs of ER (not sure why XP), and colored about an inch of Ryuichi. Go me!
At about 6 PM, things finally started looking up, because I got on the phone with Nicole and Chad. For those who don't know, (which would be most of you), Chad is this guy we met at Anime Expo. He lives in LA, and we call him up and talk to him every few months at least. He's just the type of person who is fun to talk to for long periods of time about absolutely nothing. Chad was singing Wizard of Oz (yes, the same song from the Hellsing AMV) in a high-pitched voice, while Nicole and I giggled at how much he sounded like a girl. XP There's a tradition--when we talk to Chad on the phone, we *always* have to sing at least one song into the phone. Once, we were having a discussion with Nicole, Chad, Cody, and I, and each of us was singing a different song into the phone. (In several different languages, too.) It sounded awful. XP I'd pity anyone who tried to tap our phones.
Anyway, eventually Chad had to leave, so Nicole and I talked to Cody for a while (he was hunting for his car keys), and when Cody left, we arranged for Nicole to come over. The only problem was that she was too lazy to walk the five minutes to my house, so my dad picked her up in his Jeep and brought her over here.
Well, we spent a fair amount of time reading Tatsuha's LiveJournal (again XP), but then something in our minds sort of switched and we ended up going into my room and having a rather deep discussion about what constitutes reality. In the middle of this conversation, at about 8 PM, Cody called and said he was driving over, so he showed up and joined us in our conversation. I shared some of the ideas I had on reality and the power of the human mind and such, Cody basically agreed with what I was saying.
I suppose my philosophies and spiritual beliefs are actually scientific--there seems to a fair amount of support for my theories, and I, so far, haven't seen anything to disprove them. That makes me proud. Now I just need to find someone who is an expert on the human brain, and I'll have most of the scientific bases covered. Maybe sometime when I'm feeling particularly philosophical, I'll enlighten you all on my basic belief system. It's somewhat hard to put in words, but it's pretty interesting and almost everyone I talk to approves of it. This is because it basically supports every belief system in the world--it allows more flexibility than any other philosophy I can think of.
Well, once we had gotten thoughts of depth and meaning out of our heads, Nicole and I determined that Cody absolutely must see the Pokémon episode The Fortune Hunters. We fiddled with my VCR for a while, enlisted my dad's assisstance, and finally got it working. We all got a great laugh at watching James run around in his Moltres spandex. How can you not be amused by that? XP Mew, I love Pokémon.
At some point after that ended migrated to my little brother's room to play Super Smash Bros. Melée. Cody was kicking Ryan's butt no matter what character he played as, while Nicole and I watched in mild amusement. Then everyone was back in my room (including my little brother, until he left my room at about 1:30 AM), where we were up until about 3:30 AM drawing, casually chatting, and trying to get comfortable.
There were three of us in one full bed. ^_^; And yes, we slept like that all night. Well--I don't know if slept is the word. More like chatted. Nicole and I, being the people we are, were clinging to Cody and cuddling and being silly. It's pretty funny how close my friends and I are. We're completely and totally comfortable with each other, even in situations that most people would find pretty...suggestive. ^^;; Two teenage girls and a teenage boy hugging and giggling in one small bed wouldn't normally be approved of, but it's all completely innocent, and not even slightly sexual.
Of course, when it gets late, I start acting rather...odd, so Nicole and Cody kept laughing at me when I said things like "Clothes wrinkles are GOD!" and "This is Fat the Zubat." The fact that we were all drawing together at about 2 in the morning didn't help. Cody and Nicole both drew winged bishounen, while I stuck to the tried-and-true Pokémon and wolves. It was too late to draw much else. Trust me, I tried to draw a neko, and it didn't work out. x.x
Eventually, and after lots of random blurt-outs that we just couldn't hold in, we all sort of drifted to sleep. Nicole had to get up at 7 AM to get ready for her Driver's Ed class, so when the alarm on Cody's watch beeped, she reluctantly got up and walked to her house. This left Cody and I to continue sleeping and glomping and such (though I was feeling a little feverish and shivery), and once she had gotten the things she needed for her class, she came back and joined the sleepy pile again for a little while, until my dad gave her a ride to Driver's Ed. After she left, Cody and I were pretty much awake. Dad made pancakes (which I had trouble eating--I was feeling a little icky from being up so late), and then we went back to Super Smash Bros. Melée with my little brother. Cody kicked both Ryan's butt and mine this time.
Cody had to leave to about 11 AM, and that was pretty much the last thing that happened, I think.
To be very obvious--I love being around my friends. It's a pure kind of friendship, very unconditional and affectionate. We all trust each other, and feel free to express ourselves in front of each other. We're good friends in both silly situations, and serious ones. I don't think many teenagers have friends like I do.
