Well, the weekend was kind of boring... I spent practically all of Friday on my Japanese homework, and I missed the Celtic Festival this year (never got wind of the plans), so that was a little disappointing. I'm still trying to remember what exactly I did on Saturday. I know it involved watching the dub of the Togetic departure episode (and being disappointed by music edits), AMVs, and pestering my mom about going shopping in Roseville.
Eventually, I managed to badger her into taking us shopping down there, but we left at about 7:30 PM, meaning we didn't get there until about 8:15 PM. The only con to that was that I missed episode 28 of Wolf's Rain dubbed. Which, honestly, wasn't that big of a deal--I've seen it *so* many times subbed that I can tell you scene-by-scene and music piece-by-music piece and Japanese dialogue-by-Japanese dialogue by heart. Yeah, I know it pretty darn well. I'm more interested in seeing 29 and 30 dubbed. I wonder if 29 will be as upsetting in English...
Anyway, getting off topic. So we got to the mall, and I headed straight for EB Games with the intent of getting rid of my evil, evil Hamtaro game that was leeching out my soul as I slept. I traded that and my sound-defective Gameboy Color in and got myself yet another Silver Version and another Red Version. Not that I need more, but...ummm...I really am that obsessive over my beloved Pocket Monsters. I named the Bulbasaur I started out with on the new Red Version Cereus after the real name of the Moonflowers from Wolf's Rain, and he's (or is it a she? I'll have to check on Stadium 2) already evolved during my match with Brock, making me immensely proud of it. Of course, at this point it's my only Pokémon (due to me being finicky about my team preferences), so it darn better evolve in a timely manner. I haven't started the new Silver, but I'll probably use it to raise my shiny Charmander Flicker, who I spent ages trying to breed for.
After I bought those, I went and had a late dinner of a Strawberry Julius and some steamed rice. Then my mom dragged me into Macy's (much to my chagrin), and proceeded to buy Ryan t-shirts with a gift card she had. I really don't understand his fascination with brand-name clothing. I kept randomly commenting on clothing that happened to look a bit like something Yuki or Tohma would wear. Of course, all the stuff Tohma would wear was in the girls' section, which caused much giggling to commence on my part. My mom is so used to it, she didn't even notice.
Now we get to the exciting part. We drove over to Best Buy, and I hurtled out of the car, raced towards the Anime section (after being stopped by a security guard/welcoming guy who joked that the store was closed, causing me a moment of sheer horror and panic), and quickly located Gravitation Vol. 3. Only $19.99 for a full four episodes, too! I starting leaping up and down and squeaking and squealing out random character names in the middle of the aisle; obviously in fangirlish Rakuen. It was a beautiful moment.
Well, once I had my claws on my beloved Gravitation, I made my way over to the video games section out of curiosity for the price of the Fire Red, and found their last copy for only $25 (compared to the previous findings of $35 at every store in the mall). I begged my mom to pay the remaining $15, which she did (much to my brother's frustration; he wanted a copy, too). However, now she's withholding it from me until I either pay her back or finish my Japanese course. (Preferably the former will happen first--I don't think I'll get the final done for at least three weeks because the last assignment needs to be sent in and graded before I can even sign up to take the final.) Oh well. I need to think of a name for the Squirtle I intend to start out with, anyway.
I'll save you the details of the Wal Mart trip that took place after Best Buy. By then I was drained of energy and can't remember most of the trip anyway. All I remember is that my mom wouldn't buy me a picture frame, I decided I don't need any more bunny ears, and something about a fuzzy pink hat. We got back home at midnight, and I was exhausted by that point so I went straight to sleep.
When I woke up, I got started pretty much right away on my anti-vivisection paper for English 3 Honors. I listened to my large collection of anime MIDIs while doing that. My mom left to look at a horse in Paradise (not Rakuen, unfortunately), so I was home alone writing that paper for what seemed like ages. Once I finished that, I went down to the chicken coop, fed the chickens, and then ran around the property for a while with Lily and Tia.
Then I decided to watch Gravitation. Naturally, I absolutely adored it, and I got all sappy and sentimental, as my Pisces nature dictates. That was a big cheer-up after such a boring day. Of course, it didn't throw any surprises, seeing as I already know the whole plot thanks to the manga and random knowledge, and I've seen most of the scenes via AMVs, but it was a lot more...everything...watching it all in context and with the pretty music and all that. I especially enjoyed anything involving Ryuichi, any sentimental-type scenes (which there were lots of), and watching them make the music video to Blind Game Again. And everything. Except Shuichi's orange dress and lipstick. That will always scare me, no matter how many times I see it. I mean, he looked kind of cute in the schoolgirl outfit, but the orange dress was just disturbing. All the Ryuichi scenes made me either squeal or...um...squeal. Or look like this: "*_*" Tohma getting Taki run over was fun. I mean, I already knew about it, but it was still fun. ^^;; Am I sadistic? Oh, and finally Yuki shows some emotion in the show. Yay!
I'm too lazy to go to school... *Cries* I need to go Halloween-store-hopping so I can get more random anime-like costume accessories to wear to school randomly just to confuse people. I'm considering wearing my Pikachu costume to school for Halloween, but then again... I can't sit down in the costume, and that might be a *slight* hindrance there. And I refuse to do the Nicole-taking-my-tail-on-and-off thing at school. To...um...dodgy-looking. At anime conventions it's all right because the people there are used to such silly sights, but at school, with all those un-cosplayer people... *Shudder*
I just figured out how to take screencaps today on my mom's computer. And I'm addicted. Anyone want any screencaps? I have a ton of anime DVDs, so if anyone wants some screencaps, just ask.
You know what? I had to write this whole entry twice. Isn't that crazy? It deleted the whole [even longer] entry I made later, so I had to search my brain and do it all over again. ._.;;
I can't wait to see the reactions to Wolf's Rain 28 at school. Those poor [adult swim] newbies. They really didn't know what they were getting themselves into, did they? I still say [adult swim] should have aired all four OVA episodes at once, without commercials. But really, we don't want the suicide rates going up that much, do we?
Oh, and I'm heartbroken. There was the CUTEST. PUPPY. EVER. at the pet store on Friday. It was a little eensy weensy Shiba Inu who I swear looked exactly like baby Kiba. I wanted her... I spent about an hour outside her cage. ;_; They also had an albino red-eared slider, which was cool. And a really sweet parrot. And some female parrotlets (Zephyr is chirping at me right now). And a lot of other animals.
Okay. I'd better go. It's 9 now, and I go to bed at 10. And I want some time to do some more sitting around and doing nothing in particular. Oyasumi!
