Might as well ramble while I can.

First off, I must extend enthusiastic waves to whoever reads this. I know I find it entertaining to look up random people, just out of curiosity about their trials and tribulations and how their lives work, and I think it's cool when other people do the same thing. Feel free to add comments on whatever you wish-- I don't bite (unless I'm feeling particularly wolf-like or have watched the first episode of Wolf's Rain many times in a row) and I promise not to be weirded out by complete strangers reading about my life. ^_~ I'm a friendly person, and have very, very little to hide from anyone.

That said-- the field trip was...relaxing, but a bit weird, and honestly I'm not sure what to think of it. I was sleepy the entire day, and I felt entirely removed from my normal settings. Which isn't bad, persay, but it is odd. I ended up bringing Wolf's Rain and Princess Mononoke, along with several other [live-action movie] DVDs, only to discover that there was only a VHS player anyway! *Laughs* Wow, so much strife could've been eliminated if I had known that beforehand.

I think part of the reason I was so weirded out today was that I didn't have my traveling buddies with me, and I've become so accustomed to them being along for the ride all the time. *Hugs Nicole and Cody* Oh well, I talked to Mackenzie and Nate the whole time pretty much. The main topic of discussion was...placid paintings of Lake Tahoe in the background, with an Ebola-infected baboon writhing and bleeding in the foreground. Not sure how that topic came up, but it was funny. We were playing hangman in the bus for part of the time the way there (the TVs weren't working, thus eliminating all possibility of watching anything). The TVs were fixed while we were at the Truckee River, so the way back, we watched Top Gun. This didn't hold my interest in the slightest (other than occasional poking fun at the background music and cheesy lines). So I slept against the coat that my dad made me bring.

The Truckee River was basically gone. Even Fanny Bridge was fish-less, and Mr. Cartan disappeared and we didn't see him for the whole hour we were there. However, Sand Harbor (on Lake Tahoe; our second destination) was absolutely beautiful, with the most bubbly, dazzling, fat thunderheads you could possibly imagine. Everything was a silvery-blue sort of color, which was enchanting. I spent a good chunk of the time trying to watercolor paint the scene (to horrendous effect), and once I re-decided that I have no talent in that field, I decided to watch the local wildlife. I saw my first seagull fight, and observed a funny little chubby squirrel as he stole away with copious amounts of food. And I mean copious. He was even eating right out of the Wheat Thins and pretzel bags on the stump I was sitting on, and he scampered right up to me and stared up at me with his beady black eyes and puffy cheeks on several occasions. Mackenzie made snickerdoodles that I was munching on the entire trip.

Oh, another reason it was weird was that we learned at about 10:30 AM that school had been cancelled just short of 3rd period due to--get this--sewage problems. XP That almost made me wish I had stayed home (force Cody to watch RahXephon!), but now I think I preferred being on that beautiful beach.

I also found the claw of a crawdad, and I fiddled with that the whole way back--even in my sleep. Everyone seemed kind of confused by that, but the texture was just so cool I couldn't help it. I know, I'm an odd person. The claw is currently sitting by my Toboe and Kiba plushies on my dresser, because I couldn't seem to throw it away.

Ayato is hard to draw. Really hard. I made one unsuccessful attempt at drawing him last night, and then finally did manage to successfully finish a sketch of him (looking very pleading, with tears in his eyes) and Mishima in the background. I want to practice him, because he's such a likeable character (to put it mildly), and I think I'd like to be able to draw him better.

I'm really, really hoping that over the weekend I'll be able to get ahold of Pokémon: Fire Red and Gravitation Vol. 3. I'm completely enthralled with the idea of both, so you'll definitely be hearing about them if I get them any time soon. ^_^

Hmmm... What should I talk about for the next fifteen minutes? I'm feeling vaguely sick, so I'm swinging back and forth emotions-wise right now. It is very vague, though, so it'll probably be gone by tomorrow. (I do seem to have a little bit of a cold that isn't going away, though.)

I hope I'm not too annoying with these long, rambling entries. I know that I could LJ-cut but that kind of ruins the effect. I like rambling, but I know not everyone does. Geez. Most people's entries are two to three sentences long, and mine are usually at *least* ten paragraphs. What's wrong with me?

You know, I should start putting pictures or quiz results or something in this journal to make it more colorful. I'll have to remember that next time I go quizzing. Pages upon pages of text don't hold most people's interest for very long.

I have to remember to go to a nursery to ask about the Night-Blooming Cereus and whether or not I could get one. Seriously, how much cooler could it get--having a REAL moonflower? When it bloomed I'd probably freak out and start watching the moon for any change in color. Seriously, though, that would be truly awesome. I could take pictures of it and Kiba-plushie and Toboe-plushie and feel special. Then I could show it to that random freshman who loves Wolf's Rain, too (though he's an [adult swim] newbie and therefore not all that informed), and he'd be even more confused over my extreme obsession than he already is. I confuse everyone with my obsessions.

*Yawn* Well, I'm going to go to sleep. I hope the school doesn't smell like human waste tomorrow. ._.;;
