Kestrel!

Today was so nice and fulfilling. The lack of homework definitely helps, but school went well, too. ^^

This morning, Mom dropped me off at school a little early. In the interest of killing time, I went to stand on the bridge over the [currently almost gone] stream that connects the two ponds on campus, because it seems like every time I stand on that bridge I spot an unusual or interesting bird. As I was walking on to the bridge, I saw the flash of some tail feathers on a bird that was larger than what we usually see on campus. I thought it was a jay initially, and because I love jays I decided to go look at the bird.

Well, I got over to where the bird had landed (on a small tree right nearby), and it was an American Kestrel! I'd never seen a wild kestrel before (though my rehab group has a white-tailed kite as an education bird), so it was amazing to see this guy. He was so gorgeous and adorable and wonderful! I got really close to him, too. When I was standing near him, all I could think was that I really, really wished I had a camera. Anyway, that made my day. I adore kestrels! I think I even like them better than the bigger species of raptors, as majestic as the larger raptors are.

Psychology was pretty okay. We talked a lot about learned responses of animals and such, and somehow there ended up being a big discussion on babies. Ugh. ._.;; Buuut, in my favor, someone mentioned "I don't understand how people could not want children blah blah...", which gave me the opportunity to come "out of the closet" on my CFness to my Psychology class. I was expecting people to be offended or take me lightly because of my age and such, but surprisingly everyone seemed respectful about it. Two of the women in my class (and both are mothers, too, which made it even more touching) were really supportive about it. One was telling me she has an uncle who's sixty and hasn't wanted kids since he was little, and he's lived a really happy, fulfilling life, and the other said her sixteen-year-old daughter just told her she doesn't want kids, and she said she's thinks it's "A really good decision."

Also, when I arrived to the cafeteria for lunch, I was surprised and happy to find my group of friends all chatting excitedly. It turns out their class had been cancelled, and Shannon was there, too, because she usually is. So we had tons and tons of fun talking about anime and conventions and getting all excited for the whole hour. We were so excited and loud I'm surprised no one was bothered by our enthusiasm. Anyway, it was lots and lots of fun. We talked about cosplay (Shannon's going to cosplay Sheska!) and funny convention stories and badfic and other wonderful things. I fangirled over the kestrel and Tamaki, respectively (weirdo!) and we just had lots and lots of fun in general.

The Statistics test was kind of long and headache-inducing, but not really difficult. However, during the test, the fire alarm went off, so we ended up out in the parking lot finishing our tests there. Um...kind of weird. There were fire trucks and such around, so it was kind of chaotic and hard to concentrate. I guess it wasn't a serious threat, though, seeing as I heard nothing about it for the rest of the day.

When I finished my test, I still had an hour until English started, so I sat in the [really hot -_-;;] sun and finished Death Note Vol. 7 finally. It took me long enough. I want that "L LIVES!" t-shirt now. Hard to believe he's not going to be in the manga from here on out. The scene itself was so abrupt and short, I was surprised. It was realistic, though. Poor L. ;_;

Before English started, I began Loveless Vol. 3, but didn't get very far.

English was mostly spent with a few people in the class debating with Hotchkiss about how many people the planet could theoretically (note the 'theoretically'--it's the reason I didn't join the discussion) sustain. It was rather interesting.

Then Mom picked me up, we went shopping at Raley's after picking up stuff at Dad's house, and...the rest of the day, excluding animal chores, I've spent watching Ouran. The reverse harem-ness is already starting to make me want to pull my hair out (even though that aspect of it isn't very pronounced yet, I can sense it lurking about and it's going to cause me to have a nervous breakdown). Anyway, I still say it's not an extremely awesome or outstanding show, but it's cute and charming. AND TAMAKI. Okay, you get the idea. I love Tamaki. XD;; And Haruhi. But Tamaki obsessively so.

...I have a feeling this is going to be one of those shows I talk about a lot, but am not actually actively that obsessed with. It's such fun, though!

That's all for now. I have to get ready for Chemistry tomorrow and perhaps eat some ice cream. And unload the dishes. And other stuff.

EDIT: Oh, oh, oh! I spotted an angry Ed face in Ouran episode...um...17 or something. BONES references FTW! I ♥ BONES.
