Last night I started Ouran High School Host Club. I only watched three and a half episodes, and it would have been more if my copy of episode 4 wasn't messed up and freezing and if it hadn't been late at night. ^^; My overall thoughts thusfar are that it's...really...frilly. And shoujo-y. And pink. However, I adore Tamaki because he's frickin' nuts and pretty and voiced by Mamoru Miyano, which are only slight factors in my liking his character, believe it or not. I mostly like him because he's delusional and odd. I like Haruhi, too. She's just interesting and so much more grounded than everyone else. It's great seeing Maaya doing her voice, too--Haruhi's a different type of character than I'm used to her playing, and I think she's doing a good job. ^^ Everyone else seems kind of...stereotypical. I guess this is kind of intentional, and it sort of parodies itself in that way, but it's still kind of like "Been there, done that."

The theme song is annoying. But catchy. But more annoying than catchy. XD; The ending theme is better, but it doesn't really stick out in my mind.

So, basically the crack!humor and Tamaki and Haruhi are keeping me in it for now. I'll watch all of it and see what I think, but thusfar it's only mildly interesting but kind of fun.

I went to San Francisco today, and it was lots and lots of fun. Dad woke me up at 7:30 AM, and we took off at about 8 AM, dropped by Starbucks for breakfast, and got on the road. The way there was a lot of fun--we listened to the first Arjuna OST, some Honey & Clover music, and probably something else, but I can't remember what it was. Dad had it really loud because he liked it, and because he had too much coffee, he was wildly drumming along on the steering wheel most of the way.

He dropped me off at the Japantown mall when we got there, and from there I just stayed in the Japantown mall pretty much all day. I bought:

- End of Evangelion (because it was used and cheap and I need to see it.)
- Loveless Vol. 3 (English manga)
- Gankutsuou Vol. 1 & 2 (Japanese manga)
- Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu Vol. 1 (Japanese manga) (I already have Vol. 2)
- Honey & Clover Anime Guide in Japanese
- One serial magazine that had a large Haruhi poster as an extra.
- One serial magazine that had a Haruhi towel as an extra.
- A Mew keychain.
- A Mewtwo keychain.

I also randomly ran into Jessie and one of her friends, and we continued to run into each other all day. I was so surprised to see her there--I mean, what are the chances of randomly running into a friend three hours from your hometown? Another fun little thing was that I was wandering around Kinokuniya (which I did much of the day), and I turned around and there was...a Roy cosplayer. XD;; I started talking to her, and it turned out she had come from YaoiCon. I now know to bring lots of money for doujinshi to YaoiCon. I followed her and Hughes around for a while and we chatted, but they eventually went back to the convention.

I sat in a massage chair for a while. I bought a really, really yummy crepe. I agonized over whether or not I should buy the Hare Hare Yukai single, and eventually decided against it.

So, I got kind of depressed at one point because I thought I had spent so much money, but then about five minutes before we left, I discovered a $20 in my pocket. So, yeah. That solved that problem. I still have $27 left for...um, I don't know what. Probably a DVD and the next volume or Death Note or something.

After my Japantown day, Dad picked me up and we went out to Fresh Choice for dinner. I ate just about everything in sight there. XD;; It was lots of fun. The ride back wasn't as exciting as the ride there because the CD player decided to rebel against me and refuse to play in the car speaker, so I was forced to listen to music on my CD player with headphones. I listened mostly to The Pillows (who make me smile so much you have no idea), with occasional sprinklings of Densha Otoko and Honey & Clover. While we were driving, I saw two houses that were in a dream I had once about Miyazaki. I couldn't believe it--it was exactly the houses in my dream, down to the setting, the view, EVERYTHING. It was weird.

When we got home, I also preordered FLCL: The Ultimate Edition today! YAY! I'm so excited for that and whenever my darn Haruhi artbook arrives. Naturally, it was sold out at the publisher, thus making it a longer wait.

Well, that's all... I'm going to watch more Ouran once the non-corrupt episode 4 finishes downloading.

EDIT: Oh, and according a pamphlet that was shoved under our door while we were gone, THE END OF FALSE RELIGION IS NEAR! Wow, what a relief! Took it long enough! XD

The pamphlet depicts six-headed jaguars with horns eating people. I'm not even kidding.
