I'm supposed to be going to bed, but...
Dec. 15th, 2004 10:03 pmI have a few things I'm determined to blog. Nothing too exciting, but interesting enough to be worth note.
I woke up this morning from a short but rather peculiar dream. (Actually, to be honest, I didn't even realize I had had a dream last night until third period, when something suddenly triggered the memory.) In this dream, I was at my little brother's school (Lyman Gilmore), at something that was kind of like the Student Store crossed with a tourist shop. O_o; Also, I must note, it was partially outside and partially indoors somehow and the walls behind it looked like they were straight out of a general store in the early 1900's. Anyway, I was digging through their stuff, when suddenly, I come across...a Maaya Sakamoto CD! And not just any Maaya Sakamoto CD, but Easy Listening, which I've been looking for mp3s from for the last week or so. Needless to say, I was quite excited. Then...err... Well, I don't remember what happened after that, but I know at some point I came back with intentions of buying said CD, only for it to be very difficult to find in the large stack of Maaya Sakamoto CDs. I did find it, then...I can't recall anything after that. ^^;;
I walked into first period this morning, and who was there standing next to Mrs. McDaniel's copy machine but Cody. This was mildly confusing, because I didn't know he knew exactly where my first period class is (though I knew that he knew where it was generally). He gave me my Christmas present, which is one of those little wooden model things for drawing. It's awesome! I think it'll come in handy for complex poses and the such. ^_^ I have such great friends. So I glomped him and then class started and I finished my children's story for good(finally.)
In third period (Anatomy), we got to draw on the classroom floor with Sharpies the whole period. No joke. ^_^ I took up about six squares of tile drawing Tsume (in wolf form), a chibi Kiba, Pikachu, Pichu in a Christmas hat, and writing weird things in kana. That was definitely entertaining. If anyone is confused as to why we got to draw on floor, it's because the whole D-wing is getting remodeled and we're leaving the classroom for six months or so. They're taking out the floor anyway, so Mr. Larsen was like "Why don't you guys all sign in on the floor?" We were more than happy to. Meanwhile, a video was playing in the background on fireworks, but I was too busy collecting compliments for my floor-art and trying to perfect the pictures to really care. XD
Fourth period was typical, but the women who work with us in the Student Store told us that they're treating all of us TAs to lunch on Friday at Grinder's. Score! Definitely looking forward to that.
Nicole and I spent all of lunch watching Cody sprawled out on the choir room floor and commenting about how nice of a drawing his pose would make if he was lying on the grass in the rain. It would've, too. However, by the time we were seriously thinking that maybe we should draw that, lunch was almost over.
Math was uneventful.
English was spent reading Christmas poems from Robert Frost and E.E. Cummings. Good poems, both of them, but discussions were a bit stunted because we had a sub (an awesome sub, but a sub nonetheless) for half of the period. When Mr. Cartan returned, I do believe we merely continued discussing Beloved.
After school, I went in the choir room and taught Nicole some kana on the whiteboard while Cody and his quartet practiced their rendition of "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth."
After that I went home, etc., etc...
Then we went to Victorian Christmas in downtown Nevada City, which was lots of fun. Nicole, Makayla, and I met up almost immediately in front of the candy store and spent a good half hour or so dragging Nicole away from all the musicians (the way she was staying at their performances, she could've been there all night ^^;;) and trying on hats and petting scarves. Then we met up with Ciera on a street corner and had a loud, emphatic discussion about Chrono Crusade, Mulians, the two Jeremies, Alucard being the Wizard of Oz, Breloom, me being Ryuichi, and other jumps in conversation that made little/no sense. Eventually we scared Ciera off and she ran away into the crowd. Oh well.
So, then Nicole and I walked around in a vague attempt at finding Cody. We did, after a little while, along with several of our other friends: John, Thomas, Gretchen, and Liana. They performed some choir songs on the street corner just off the top of their heads and made about $50-60 in Liana's hat. Nicole and I watched that loyally for over an hour, after which was when everyone kind of disbanded. Makayla came back then and fed me a truffle. She told me that it had a high alcoholic content, but I didn't hear her before I took a bite of it. I then started loudly complaining about how bitter and yucky the truffle was, much to Makayla's amusement. I jokingly accused her of trying to get me drunk. ^^;;
Once all my friends had left/disappeared, I bought a candle and a pretty ornament for the Secret Santa gift exchange in my English class. *Checks that off on her checklist of "Things to Do"* As we were leaving Victorian Christmas, we discovered the Fox40 news channel parked right by a hotel and talked to the weatherman about this-or-that for a half hour.
._. I want to elaborate on absolutely everything but by now it's way past my bedtime. Love you all!
