RARE 2002 Gengar Pokédoll Auction
Sep. 16th, 2015 04:10 pmI have a very rare 2002 Gengar Pokédoll up for auction today! Please read the sales policies before bidding.
SALES POLICIES:
(These are important, please read them!)
- Due to the cost and rarity of this item, I will require insurance on the package, paid for by the buyer. I can ship the package First Class or Priority depending on your preference. I will ship internationally, just be aware that the costs for international shipping start at around $10 or so (for First Class).
- Please contact me before bidding if you will require a payment plan! I might be willing to work one out with you if necessary, but I want to figure out the details beforehand if you will need a payment plan. Your first payment (or full payment, if no payment plan), must be sent within three days of the auction's end
- No sniping allowed! If someone makes a bid in the last five minutes, the auction will extend another five minutes until five full minutes have passed without a bid.
- Please reply directly to the last bid. Any bids outside the thread will be ignored. I will try to inform you if your bid is outside the thread.
- I was granted sales permission by Areica on March 6, 2015. My feedback can be found here and my Ebay feedback can be found here.
- I accept Paypal almost exclusively. Please send your payments in US dollars, not any other currency!
- I have dogs, cats, and birds who live indoors. They are kept away from the items in general. However, if you have a severe allergy to animals, these may not be the sales for you.
The offers will end on September 23rd at 7:00 PM Pacific Standard time/10:00 PM Eastern Standard time. Here's a countdown to the end of the auction.
This plush is extremely difficult to find. It was released in 2002 at the New York Pokémon Center with a different type of tush tag than the current Pokédolls have, so the hang tag is attached to the ear. The plush itself is in awesome condition--pretty much like new! The hang tag has seen better days, though, and has a number of creases/wear, as visible in the photos. The hang tag still has the original price tag on it from Pokémon Center New York.

Bidding starts at $300.

Date: 2015-09-24 03:37 am (UTC)I'm so happy I was able to help you get your ultimate grail! It's so exciting to be involved in that! I almost didn't buy this Gengar because at a glance I thought it was a bootleg--good thing I went, "Oh, whatever, I'll just buy it anyway!" and then did my research on it. It really amazes me how rare things can just suddenly appear, as if out of nowhere, sometimes!

Date: 2015-09-24 06:10 pm (UTC)I tried to insure on Paypal but it said the limit was $500, so I just went to the post office and Gengar is on his way! Tracking number is VG 952 717 153 US. He should be there very soon!
I'm so thankful that collector's wiki exists and that someone knew about that release--that's how I found out about it, too.
I'll probably ship the other little thing tomorrow if I get a chance to go to my other house! :D

Date: 2015-09-29 05:57 am (UTC)Aww, I'm glad you liked the drawing as well! :D Halloween is the best holiday! Also, I sent out the other little extra thing so it should be there soon~
My cel was actually not too terrible, relatively speaking--it was around $700 or so. I have quite a number of cels (around 50 Pokémon cels or so, plus tons of original sketches, settei, and more),. Most Pokémon cels don't go that high, but that one is a particularly large and gorgeous one. Cel prices can vary wildly--I've gotten cels for around $15 before (rarely, but it has happened), and I've paid hundreds. Really depends on the subject matter, timing, and so on. I will definitely let you know if I see any Gengar cels around--I keep pretty close tabs on Pokémon production art because I collect it to the best of my ability, so if it's out there, there's at least a decent chance I'll spot it. Pokémon cels are unpredictable in regards to when they'll pop up, and what Pokémon they'll feature when they do.

Date: 2015-10-07 04:34 am (UTC)You're welcome! Yeah, I feel like the cel is worth more than what I paid, but I'll never sell it so it doesn't really matter what it's worth. ;) I'll definitely have my eyes peeled for a Gengar cel.
Thanks again to you as well! I'm so pleased Gengar ended up with you. :D
