Jun. 28th, 2013 03:44 pmSo, Chihayafuru season two is officially over. I'm so sad! I've been enjoying it a great deal and looking forward to it every week. It's a series that I never get tired of, and I love the characters so, so much. I'm really, really hoping there will be a season three, but apparently there needs to be more manga content first, so it could be a while. I may pick up the manga where the anime left off, considering the anime might take some time (assuming we get a season three at all), but I'll miss the wonderful VAs, animation, BGM, and so on. I wish I had more friends who are into this series, because it's one where I think the character interactions, and especially the shipping, is great for discussing. Of course, I should have some time at Otakon to talk to
kirarakim about it!
I also started Shingeki no Kyojin, and have watched eight of the twelve episodes that are out so far. I'll watch the remaining four today, once I manage to get my Chihayafuru feelings under control, haha. It's amazing so far, though! I love the animation style, especially those thick lines and hatching. Also, the atmosphere is incredible. I got so wrapped up in it that the episodes just flew by. The Titans themselves are impressive. Their size, movement, and designs are wonderfully intimidating and fascinating. The whole show is just super intense. I do have a few mild criticisms of it--I find the idea of Eren and Misaka doing what they did in Misaka's past pretty unbelievable, and when the animation/art is lower-quality in some scenes it becomes rather obvious because of how gorgeous the animation looks much of the time. Also, the show can be a bit overly coarse/harsh at times, as if it's trying too hard to be really extreme, though it's hard to explain what I mean by that without going off at great length (which isn't worth it for something so minor and vague). But, I love it so far and think it's amazing--these are just quibbles. I'm very impressed by the series. I'm glad I decided to watch it now instead of holding off until the series finishes, because now I can appreciate all the Titan-related stuff at Anime Expo. :D
Armin is so adorable, aughhhh. Definitely my favorite character! ♥
