I'm enjoying the new PMD game so far! I like the storyline, though I'm only about 9 or 10-ish hours in. It's got a similar heartwarming feeling as the previous games, and I love that. The beginnings of some great characters so far, too. It always surprises me how nice the writing is on these games. I can't be cynical about them at all, they just make me emotional (in a good way). So many new features! Setting up Paradise is fun.

I started with Pikachu, Pacific, and my partner is Pascal the Axew. I had a hard time choosing who to go with. I love all the Unova starters, but I couldn't decide which I wanted of their evolutions (I like Samurott and Serperior a lot, but didn't feel like I wanted either on my PMD team), whereas I love Haxorus. Otherwise, I'm mostly using Virizion and currently Umbreon and Espeon. I've also been training up an Archen named Raggedy and a Mienfoo named Penby, but I'm not solid on who else I'm going to use on my team, ultimately.

Seeing as I've been procrastinating on writing about it, I also love Fire Emblem: Awakening, and I'll just write a little about it for now. I'm so glad I gave it a chance, as it's really fun and awesome. I can see myself obsessively playing it for a long time. My favorites are Nowi, Panne, and Sumia (who married Chrom), but I love a lot of the characters! I think I'm on Chapter 18? I'm currently taking a break for PMD, but probably not for long... I'm already craving going back to it, so I'll probably go back and forth between the two. It's hard for me to balance two video games at a time, though.

As much as veteran Fire Emblem fans might rip on me for it, I'm so glad that I can play in Casual. I get too attached to the characters, and I would seriously be making no progress due to resetting and resetting and resetting to prevent character deaths otherwise. I've had enough real loss in my life lately, I don't really need to be causing the deaths of video game characters, too...

I need to go download the music from the battle in the rain (after a major event that I won't mention for the sake of spoilers), because that was incredibly pretty.

I also downloaded Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask for free from Club Nintendo. I've heard good things about the series, and it was free, so...yay! I might not play it for a while, though, seeing as I'm busy with my other two games.

I'm a bit sad that when I transferred over my 3DS info, it didn't keep my save records for everything I downloaded. ;; In particular, I'm sad that my SwapNote doodles are gone, especially the ones I received from friends. But, oh well, I'll just have to draw more! And it was worth it to have the Pikachu 3DS.

I've been really tired lately, so my life has been basically sleeping, video games, short bouts of work, and tending to injured fowl.

Aww, snap, you're already farther in PMD than I am, lol. I've been so busy getting ready to move I haven'thad time for any games, and Animal Crossing is my game for when I'm on the go!

I'm glad to hear that PMD is fun. Fire Emblem is keeping me entertained for now, but I am planning to buy PMD eventually (probably after the price drops). Out of curiosity, are the 5 Pokemon choices from the demo the only choices they give you, or are there more options in the full version? I really miss taking the quiz to find out which Pokemon I am. ;__;

Playing on casual is a totally valid option, especially if you're new to the series or don't want to take the time to reset. (I seriously considered switching to casual on my second file since I was using it mostly to complete supports and didn't want to deal with resetting if I made a dumb mistake.) I really wish the other Fire Emblem games had a casual mode. Permanent character deaths were the main thing that turned me off from the series the first time I played it.

Everyone I know loves the music from that chapter, myself included. Club Nintendo in Japan released the FE: Awakening soundtrack as one of their prizes. I'm hoping that Club Nintendo of America will follow suit so I can get that song.

I'll have to look into that Professor Layton game. I've never played a Professor Layton game before but I've heard good things about them.

It didn't keep your save records? It should have. All of my Swapnotes transferred over to my new 3DS. Have you checked to make sure they're not on your old SD card?

PMD: Explorers of Sky is utterly amazing, and I highly highly recommend playing it! It's been years and I have yet to get over just how much I adore the storyline. The ending theme still makes me almost tear up, haha. It starts off sort of slow/meh, and not everyone likes the gameplay, but if you stick with it I can pretty much guarantee that it will move you. ♥ Gates to Infinity is great, too, but I think you should play Explorers of Sky first. It's just that great.

Fire Emblem is also totally amazing and I highly recommend it! I've been playing it all day, actually, haha. I've only played a little of Layton so far so I don't have too much on an opinion on it yet! Other than that I like puzzles.
