Got a new TV at my mom's house, finally! Our "best" TV was a 22" non-flatscreen, which was decent, but really small. We bought a 32" VIZIO Smart TV last night. I can't seem to get DirectTV working on it yet, for some reason, but I've been watching stuff on Netflix and it works great!

I'll finally be buying myself a 3DS (specifically an XL) sometime within the next week, whenever my paycheck goes through. I was tempted to wait and see if they'll release any Pokémon editions here (seeing as I can't get a Japanese one due to region lock), but the new Mystery Dungeon game comes out in a few weeks. I figure it'll be nice to not have a special edition in a way, because I can customize it and not be so paranoid about condition. I can always buy a Pokémon edition one later if one does come here here. Anyway, I'm excited to get one and mostly retire my lovely Pikachu DS Lite to my collection. It has served me so well and gotten a lot of attention at cons, and it's so cute. I'm really glad that Gin helped me get it, years ago. ♥ It's been with me back to Japan, to who knows how many cons, through well over one thousand hours of gameplay.

Funny enough, this will be my first DS that is not Pokémon edition. I have the Poképark DS, Mew DS, and Pikachu DS Lite.

I might head to San Francisco around my birthday (the 14th), to hang out in Japantown for a day or two. I'll let everyone know the dates ahead of time so maybe I can hang out with friends who are in the bay area and not busy?

Hoorah! Did you end up getting a US one or a Japanese one, out of curiosity? I'll definitely share my friend code once I get mine!

Japanese! It just seemed silly to get a US 3DS when I have literally no desire to play games in English. I decided to buy a big stockpile of 3DS games this month before I go back to America to last me for at least the next year since I can't buy any in the US!

Oh, that's a good plan! Yeah, might as well use those Japanese skills you worked so hard for. And you still can by them in the US if you must, it's just really expensive. I hope you have fun playing all your new games! I'm happy that you'll be in the same state fairly soon, so hopefully we can meet up sometime. :D

I hope we can! I just wish I weren't moving to southern California because I cannot think of a nywhere that is a worse fit for me, except maybe Texas...
