I thought the ending was good. It didn't really explain a whole lot, at least not explicitly, but thematically and emotionally, it mostly worked out well I think. The whole series really was like a strange dream. I'd like to watch it again sometime and see if I can understand it a bit better, as I feel like you can't really see the whole picture during the series while you don't have all the pieces. To be fair, I don't think we're really given all the pieces, but that's okay--the enigmatic, dreamlike quality is a nice thing about the series (and simultaneously a bit frustrating, for its disjointed nature).

I feel like the series lacked the structure to be fully realized, in a way, though maybe it's just my nature to want more understanding, but at the same time I think that it just worked out somehow despite this. I keep wanting to find things to compare it to, and remembering things that baffled me, but...really, it was dreamlike, and that's the most accurate thing I can say about it. Littered with interesting symbolism, emotions, things that don't entirely make sense (at least on the surface), and rotating strangely between cute and dark and bizarre and funny and sweet. You never really knew hat the series would be up to next.

Well, it was an interesting ride. Like I said, I can't say it was a favorite of mine (though I did like it a lot), but it was certainly not a poorly done series either. In a lot of ways, it was well-done and thought-provoking. Just very different and fascinating. It's a series I'd love to watch with friends who have seen it before so we could bounce ideas off each other. Maybe I should read some internet discussion sometime.

Has anyone else seen the whole series? If so, what did you think?

I've watched it all and loved it! Though I marathoned it, so I can't remember how I felt after each episode!! I did like the ending, though I was a bit saddened by it too, but Himari gets to live her life at least.
I really want to see it again, but it's getting released in the UK soon so I'm just going to wait until then, but I loved the Princess of the Crystal and found her hilarious!
