I'm three episodes from finishing Mawaru Penguindrum. Obviously, I haven't seen the conclusion yet, so I can't say anything too definitive. But, I do want to say that it reminds me of a long, vivid dream--both in good ways and bad. It has bright, bold imagery, lovely symbolism, and it is sometimes very moving, but at times it feels disconnected and strange and not entirely lucid. I keep trying to describe it in other ways, or rationalize it more, but I think saying that it is dream-like is the most accurate way to put it. I can't say it's likely to become a true favorite series of mine, but I certainly appreciate it for that dreamlike quality. Overall, I'm enjoying it and it's been an interesting ride.

Time to go finish it now, I suppose! Then I can draw more definitive conclusions about how I feel about it.
