I've been feeling so utterly miserable that I decided to take a Prozac today, just to see what happened.

My mood is like 70% better, wow. Probably do need to be on anti-depressants, though certainly not Cymbalta ever again. I finished the things that were stressing me out at work, so that helps, too. Just one more day of work and I get to go have fun at the con! Though I'm disappointed that it looks like I'm going by myself. Well, I guess I'll just make some new friends, which is ridiculously easy at cons anyway. I haven't met my roommates yet, but I think I'll like them!

I have quite of bit of preparation to do for the con, but it's hard to figure out what exactly to do first. I'm painting myself a PokéMart sign out of a piece of wood from the garage currently, though that's probably not the most productive thing to do. The sign isn't very exciting, either, but oh well.

Anyway, thanks for putting up with me being utterly miserable when I often am. I wish I could control it better, but that's just how life goes.

Though, the Prozac made you feel good for the day, it is hard to say how it will effect you long term if you start to take it regularly. Of course, it doesn't hurt to give it a go, that is if your doctor will write you a prescription. Sometimes, it takes trying several different meds (aka medication roulette) before finding what works best for you. I lost count the number of medications I have been on...:\

I hope you have a great time at the con. To bad I don't live closer, I would love to go with you. By the look of how things are going financially, I doubt I will be able to attend any cons this year. Oh well, there is always 2014...;)

That's true. I actually have a prescription for it, though--my doctor wrote it to help me get off the Cymbalta, and he recommended trying it out long term. I just wanted to see how I'd do without anti-depressants (because the Cymbalta wasn't helpful at all, I don't think, or barely if it was), but now I might as well try the Prozac. It's true that we often have to try many different medications, it's frustrating that there's no magic pill for everything!

Thank you, I will definitely have fun! I certainly wish you lived closer, too, you'd always be invited to come with me to cons!

At least your doctor knows you are on the medication. Sometimes, even the best cars need a little fine tuning. At least that was what I was told by a super nice fellow named Charlie when I was in Eastern State (it is a mental hospital). No, there is no magic pill. That is why I prefer to be on a low dose of my medications, why I learn coping skills of my own.

Maybe, one year I can take you up on your invitation...;)

There's nothing wrong with being on anti-depressants long term, especially if your brain chemicals are way off balance. Depression is a very touchy thing to diagnose, so it must be taken in stride. My docs wanna put me on anti-depressants. Dunno which, though. Hopefully something mild, just to calm my nerves a bit. Since I suffer from panic attack disorder, I'm always in a tough position. I was so addicted to Xanax when I was a teen, because it was my quick-fix whenever I had a panic attack. So I never left the house without them. Getting off of them was really, really hard. Much harder than getting off of anti-depressants. So I'm scared about going on something similar. However, now that I know the dangers, I can do my best to steer clear of becoming dependent.

I'm glad Prozac is making you feel so much better. :) My doc said she considered putting me on it because of its success rate.

Have fun at the con! :) Looks like we both will have a fun filled con weekend~
