Dec. 19th, 2012 07:26 pmI have survived my endometrial ablation! It wasn't that bad, actually--I was braced for something worse, but my doctor was right in that it wasn't a bad experience. I've been crampy today, but just like a bad period day, and the higher-dose (prescription) Ibuprofen is helping. I slept a few hours, and now, bit of cramping aside and general inclination to rest and take it easy, all is well. The next few days I'm planning on resting and hanging out, doing various low-energy activities. It'll be a few months to say if it has truly taken out my period, but the doctor says it went well!
The worst part was that they had trouble getting my IV in. The first time they tried, it hurt quite a bit, but they used Novocain after that and the other two times (third time being the charm) I couldn't feel. Then, after the procedure, I was ready to go home for over an hour and my mom was waiting in the waiting room for most of that time, but somehow the people in office kept ignoring her even though she talked to them multiple times, and they didn't tell the nurses she was here for me. .____. It felt like an eternity, sitting in the recovery room and listening to the nurses talking to the other patients. It made me all grumpy and my mom was definitely not happy about it. But, oh well. I'm just glad it's over and that I'm not in horrendous pain.
I'm enjoying Steins;Gate so far! I finished episode seven last night and I'll probably start watching it again tonight soon. Okarin is the most hilarious character, ahaha. I'm not much of a fan of the character designs in this series, and his design is so plain that I wasn't expecting him too be all that interesting, but honestly I don't think I've laughed this much at a single character since Hosaka in Minami-ke. Of course, it's not that big of a surprise--aside from maybe Light in Death Note (and he was hilarious in his own way), I adore pretty much every Mamoru Miyano character in series I've seen. Tomokazu Seki's role is fun, too, with all of the innuendo. I've met Tomokazu-san twice in person and he's hilarious.
It's getting darker, little by little, but anyway, it's very likeable so far. Lots of laughs and interesting concepts. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
