Ahhhhhh a new PMD game announced! I'm so happy and excited! I've been hoping for a new one for a while now. First Conquest, then B/W 2 (which is coming out soon, I can't believe it), and now this? I feel like I'm being spoiled with games this year.

Guess I'm going to have to get a 3DS before it comes out.

confession:

I like the PMD games more than real pokemon games

I can totally understand that! For me I think they're about equal, but the storylines of PMD are so fantastic! I can't wait 'til we get more information about who we can start with, what the storyline will be about, and so on! I'm glad we'll be able to fan about it together. :D

I like games with storylines, which, let's face it, the regular pokemon games kind of lack, and I'm also obsessed with questing/dungeon crawling, so the PMD are perfect for me!

This just means I have to finally give in and get a 3DS... I haven't because of Nintendo's increidbly dumb decision to make everything region-locked. I want to get a Japanese 3DS since I'd rather play games in Japanese, but when I move back to America it'll mean I have to pay out the ass to import anything new that comes out that I want to play :/ aggghh what to do

Yeah, I agree! I think B/W was a bit better in that department than the other games, but I prefer the more extensive/character-driven PMD stories. It was nice to see such great writing in a Pokémon game, as I found the plot much more engaging than I'd have expected. I also love the gameplay, so I'm right there with you on that! (The only thing is that I haaaate when I'm escorting a client and run into a monster house, but that's the most minor complaint ever, haha.)

Yeah, I don't have a 3DS either yet, and the region-locking bugs me. I'd love to get that Pikachu XL 3DS they're releasing, but the region-lock makes that a no-go. Guess it'll be time to retire my adorable Pikachu DS Lite to my collection once I have the funds for a 3DS. It's much harder to decide for you, though, being between two countries! I'll bet it'd be easier and cheaper to get US games imported to Japan, but then you have to wait for the US release dates, which is lame. Ahh, hard decision. :(

It wouldn't be a hard decision if it weren't for the cost of importing! I honestly have no desire to play US releases of games. I mean, why did I become fluent in Japanese if not to play the original releases of things, right? I guess I'd rather pay more to play in Japanese and get it sooner, but still, prices go crazy high importing to the states :S

Yeah, I know, I've looked into importing games and it's insanely expensive. :(

Region locking things is just annoying.

got around to watching. I am not super pumped about the choices of pokemon you can be in this one :( So few to choose from! And I'm old-school so I will miss the sprite graphics. If the contents are still good, though, small nitpicks!

Yeah, I was wondering if that's really going to be all of them. :( So limited if so! At least you can train whatever you want eventually typically in those games. Still, it would definitely be nice to have more choices.

The graphics I'm so-so about--I'm pretty old-school myself, but I think I'll like and get used to them, as long as the game is responsive and doesn't have stupid loading times or anything.

Seriously LOL'd at the whole "take a picture of something and it becomes a dungeon!" thing. It's cool, but also kind of hilariously odd. I'm so going to take pictures of my pets and other such things.

I hope I'm not missing something but I got bored of MD:Blue so fast ;_; Not to say they're bad but I couldn't get into them. Were the newer ones better?

IMHO Sky was totally wonderful. The storyline starts out kind of meh, but by the end it made me tear up because I was so moved by it. ;____; The storyline is so great. I can understand why people may or may not like the gameplay because I think that depends on personality, but the storyline is worth playing it for.
