Okay, got my angst out, now have a bunch of pictures!
Collection, post organization today:

Pile of Umbreon-related flats:

Buttons from several artist's alleys:

Hmm, I wonder why I would feel slightly overwhelmed by organizing this all? (Plus more that's in boxes and stuff!)

Good thing I don't generally sleep in this bed:

Didn't get a picture of Buizel-shelf because 1/1 Meowth was blocking it and I was too lazy to move him.

Anyway, that's just a brief overview.
Here's a Tosca photodump:

Infatuated with the broom and dustbin:

Nice hiding spot:

Curled up in a blanket nook:

Precious grocery bag:

It got flattened! What to do? Sit on it, attempt to open it again?

Delicious toes:

Delicious cord:

One of the two calves at work, Douglas. He's the older one (Linus, the younger one, is sick at the moment), and he's super friendly. He's licking my bag in the second picture:

Some of the chickens chilling in the shade in the main coop. Just one coop of four, but the biggest one:

The Cutie Mark Crusaders, in chicken form! Sweetie Belle, Apple Blossom, and Scootaloo.

Random shot of some of my cockerels. Does not show remotely how incredible they are:

My favorite of the cockerels. His feathers are a very dramatic patchwork of colors and patterns.

Older cockerel:

Chiffon and her baby getting a drink:

Chiffon's baby crying for her mommy! Who could not have been more than four feet away.

Guinea fowl.

And Honey all wrapped up in blankets. My finger shadowed half of the picture, oops. XD

Date: 2011-08-31 06:21 am (UTC)Yes, they are totally adorable! My favorite breed of chicken. The mother, Chiffon, is literally the size of a pigeon, so you can imagine how tiny her baby was when she first hatched. (Hint: A quarter is a good size reference.)

Date: 2011-08-30 05:38 pm (UTC)Douglas is a beautiful calf.
Sort of random, but a thought just ocurred to me.. how many eggs do you get a day? Well. Eggs are like periods right?... so I guess.. you have roosters so your hens incubate future babies instead of producing non fertile eggs... or you have hens that don't lay anymore... I was just suddenly curious if you have an overabundance of eggs you have to constantly deal with. XD Anyway. Your animals look delightful as always!

I get anywhere from like six minimum to maybe three dozen maximum eggs per day, depending on the weather and whatnot. All of the eggs are fertile because I have roosters everywhere, but fertile eggs are just as edible as non-fertile ones, unless a hen was incubating the egg and a fetus started growing. I prevent that from happening by collecting daily or not collecting at all if there are hens in a particular coop incubating. (You can candle the eggs to see the fetuses growing, so it's easy to tell if an egg has started developing or not.) Some of my hens don't lay any more I'm sure, but I don't know which ones and nor do I care. I let my hens hatch eggs occasionally and raise the babies, and the rest go in the refrigerator. Then my mom and I gift them to random people, like our neighbors and friends and whoever wants them. Theoretically I should ask for a little money for them to help cover the feed bills, which are $120 a month, but I don't really care enough about the eggs to do that. XD;; I hardly eat eggs myself, I like them all right but I just don't think of making them very often.
