Aug. 27th, 2011 12:24 amOh, also, while I'm online, I might as well say that Tosca is an utter joy. She has such a huge personality! I've been reading about bengals online and what they say about their personalities fits her almost perfectly. In some ways, she is more like a dog than a cat (which is fine with me, as--while I adore cats--I am slightly more of a dog person).
She is extremely interactive. She follows me all over the place. She plays with anything and everything, making me laugh, and she is very energetic. I'm constantly smiling at her antics and the weird things she does. When I settle down, she usually settles down right with me. Honey still tries to herd her, but they seem to have a truce now where Honey will sit on the couch, chair, or bed and tolerate Tosca being a foot or less away. Tosca is clearly very intelligent. In the first few days she was here, she bothered my birds, but with a few firm "No"s, she hasn't gone near them since. She does want to go outside and I won't let her, but I plan on getting her a harness and leash training her soon. I think she will love this.
I've always enjoyed my cats, but they've always been more aloof than Tosca. Bob is fairly friendly, but she's an outdoor only cat (by her choice, not mine) so she and I only interact when I'm outside. CC mostly stays in the back bedroom. She has become rather sedentary as she's gotten older. She does enjoy being brushed, though. Princess was certainly quite aloof, and the only other cat I've had, Cleo, who was more outgoing, was run over by a car when she was only one year old. It's fun to have a cat who has bonded strongly to me and is constantly around, playing and being funny and cute. I'm so happy I adopted her.
