Fennel still won't let me in the dream world, my EMS package is still stuck on "Origin post preparing shipment," my new laptop is working with modifications but still needs to be officially repaired, my digital camera is still lost and dad's is still not working, my external hard drive is still not working, my old laptop is dead for good unless repaired (too expensive to be worth it) but at least I can harvest the data off of it when I get a new cord...

Come ON technology! Can't we be friends? I thought we were friends. :(

Also, mama chickens killed the two chicks that hatched before I even got to see them. ;____; It seems to be that, if you allow a mother hen to have older chicks, if they hatch younger chicks (more than a day or two later) they kill them. This has happened before. I honestly have to try really hard not to let it bother me, because it's sad but natural behavior AND I had no warning. I busted out the incubator for the sake of the other late-term eggs, though--they'll be going in there where they'll be safe, at least. Gahhhhh, my poultry hobby makes me so, so, so happy and is totally worth it, but there certainly are difficult parts of it.

At least the property is getting fenced! We have the posts up now, it should only be a few more days before the fence is done. It sounds like a weird thing to get excited about, but considering how much of my life revolves around my animals, the fence will be extremely nice to have. The dogs won't be able to go in the street, I can let my poultry out to free range more, and so on. :D

Good thing, because Tippy escaped today and I chased her around for like forty-five minutes while she ran around the property at top speed. This would be fine, but she goes in the street and wanders off, and she's too smart and knows you're going to ruin her fun if you catch her. So she plays keep-away with herself, and that pup is FAST.

Anyway, things aren't bad, but I just had to vent. So many little things all piled up!

Yay for new laptop working (sort of). Didn't know that about baby chicks. Wow. Guess they do that to avoid competition for food? It certainly is interesting and sort of unpleasant. And yeah, Tippy is fast!! I still remember she likes to steal food while people are eating. A fence would definitely help!
