Iiii am going to spoil myself to Macross Frontier love triangle, orz! It's going to be a long time before the movie comes out and I don't want to have to avoid everything Macross Frontier-related in the meantime, especially not the final soundtrack which apparently contains spoilers in the track list.

I just know I'll end up spoiling myself before the movie comes out ultimately, might as well do it now rather than later. 8D;

It'll all be over in an instant when I click the cut, ahhhh! This feels so dramatic, ahaha.

So, it skewed Alto/Sheryl in the end, but I'm actually happy with how it sounds like it ends. In that...I can still easily choose to ship Ranka/Sheryl still instead, haha. >) Some people are saying movie!everyone is more awesome so maybe I will feel differently about Alto in this go-around, but at least in the series I felt like the girls ended up having better chemistry and friendship and comradery between them than Alto and either of them. Anyway, I'm totally okay with this ending. It's open and bittersweet and I like that. I have a feeling I'll like it even better when I can watch the movie. :3

I think the TV ending is better honestly (threesomes for the win) but I kind of like that now with Alto gone Sheryl/Ranka are obviously going to hook up (says me!). XD

Great minds think alike! XD That's kind of what interpretation I get out of it, too. We can just decide Alto is gone if that's what works for us and now he can be a bonding point for the two of them. Bittersweet but it works for me, hahaha! Alto will always be there, in spirit, or something. Alto/sky ending! Okay, now I'm just being goofy, but I think you get the gist of what I'm saying in my silliness.

I still say the girls are ultimately much better characters than Alto. Pretty though he is, pretty is meaningless to me without a good personality, and to me he is just so bland and uninteresting.
