So, a fellow rehabber in Yuba City got in a juvenile tundra swan with an injured leg, and I'm taking it in tomorrow. This ought to be interesting! I'd better start preparing a pen and researching now, as I've never cared for a swan before. Shouldn't be too difficult seeing as I've raised ducks and know a decent amount about waterfowl, but it'll definitely be a new experience. Let's hope the poor thing can be nursed back to health before the tundra swans head back to the tundra in the spring.

Aww, I love swans! My husband is a security guard for a retirement home called Swan Creek and they have two swans that live in a smallish pond area that he has to help take care of.

Aww, cool! Are they mute swans? If so, wow, mute swans are expensive (but gorgeous, of course)!

Swans are amazing birds! We get a ton of them not far away, in central California's wetlands, during the winter when they migrate down from the tundra.
