Super Positive Post!
Oct. 24th, 2010 02:32 amOf all silly things, I am so excited about my new default icon! Look at how cute it is! I've been meaning to have a surfing Pikachu default icon for a long time but never got to it until today. I added some other new userpics as well. :D Doesn't take much to get me all excited and happy, haha.
Things have been going fantastic lately!
* I just cleaned up my room and it looks considerably less like a train hit it now. Also, now I only have three serama chicks and two guinea keets in my room. Charming and her four chicks have moved into the bird room in a wonderful spacious cage I got at the AnimalSave thrift store for $15 when it was actually supposed to be $35. (The lady I asked about the price quoted it as $15 and when she discovered it was actually $35, she said I could have it for $15!)
* The Sacramento NaNoWriMo Lazy Meet and Greet was plenty of fun! Saw lots of familiar faces, met some new friends, had fun conversations, ate delicious food, and all was well.
* Yaoi-Con is coming up, and I snagged a hotel room finally for my friends and I at con prices! I procrastinated on booking a room for a variety of reasons, but it worked out anyway because someone had a room they didn't want and transferred their reservation to me. If anyone needs a room for Yaoi-Con, let me know! Prices will be totally reasonable and my friends and I make great roomies.
* NaNoWriMo starts right after Yaoi-Con! I'm going to the kick-off party on the way back from the convention, actually.
* I just candled my Icelandic eggs again and 8/8 are moving vigorously and looking awesome! It's such a special experience to candle eggs, let me tell you. I never get tired of it. There's something almost sacred about it, connecting with something that hasn't been born yet and watching it move all around, grow, kick its legs. Knowing I'll get to snuggle with those growing babies after they hatch and watch them grow into beautiful adults. I guess that's what people like about being pregnant? Errrr, that's not for me at all for a massive number of reasons I won't get into, but watching it in bird eggs that are external/easy to see in? Totally the best. And not only is incubating fun, so is raising chicks, owning adult poultry, and basically the whole poultry hobby.
* It's finally raining! Very relaxing to listen to. The only thing I dislike about the rain is that my chicken coops get all wet and muddy, but aside from that the rain is wonderful and refreshing.
* I'm playing my SoulSilver game finally (I'm just level grinding for Red in HeartGold, so it's nice to have plot to play through again), and I love my team so far. Cyndaquil, Duskull, Yanma, Feebas, Porygon, and Trapinch. :D
I feel like I just have a lot to look forward to in general lately. ♥

Date: 2010-10-24 07:01 pm (UTC)I'm not much of a "new life enthusiast" either but wow that has to be so interesting to do with the eggs. Afterall, baby chicks are super cute.
It's nice to read an optimistic journal for a change. Hope everything will continue to work out for you ;D

Date: 2010-10-25 12:43 am (UTC)And I don't like babies or human pregnancies at all, but in animals it's different. Especially with birds, where development takes place outside of the mother's body, you can totally watch development from the beginning until hatching, and chicks are soooo cute. Also chicks are much less work, more fun, grow up quickly, eat on their own, don't require constant supervision, and so on, making them far far better than human babies. :D
It is good to be positive! I am most of the time, though of course things can't always be great, hahaha.

Date: 2010-10-25 07:21 pm (UTC)Oh, hoorah! I'll be arriving at Yaoi-Con probably in the morning or afternoon on Friday! Also, if you 'd like to room with us Friday or Saturday or both, you are quite welcome to! Shouldn't be too expensive, especially with 4-5 people already confirmed. :D I don't know if I have your number, so please e-mail it to me at phoenixfreedom AT yahoo.com, just because PMs frequently screw up for me.
