My New Year's ending up being nice. ^^

I continued calling Cody for large amounts of time, and eventually his sister answered the phone and gave me Nate's phone number. >D So, I called a bunch of times, but got all distraught because no one was answering. So, I did the only thing I could think of doing: I continued to call! And--yes, my "plan" worked. Eventually Nate picked up, gave the phone over to Cody, and I whined about how much I missed him and such, so he came over about ten minutes later.

At my house...uh...he showed off his new laptop (which is cool), we transferred some stuff (namely, music, codecs, and AMVs) with his flash drive, and I lamented having to stop reading Anbus. Except I wasn't really lamenting it all that much. XD

Anyway, we went to his house for a little over an hour after that. We chatted with Kate (his sister), and soon discovered she had spiked jello and put it in the fridge (O_x WTF?). We discovered this because Cody saw the little jello cups in the fridge and decided to try one. XD Luckily, he concluded it was spiked within one bite, and then he tried to throw it away, only to discover Kate had stolen his garbage can and put it in her bathroom. XD; So then he had to go find it.

We started watching Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on his laptop and got about halfway through it. I concluded from what I saw that it was good, but I like the books better. ^^; We left to go to his dad's for dinner at that approximately-halfway point.

I had never been to his dad's (although I've met his dad several times), so this was a fun little experience for me. Anyway, his dad lives in this cute little house way out on a windy road, but he only lives there about half the time, because the other half of the time he lives in Fiji. How cool is that? I like Cody's dad--he seems very intelligent and...also kind of wise, I guess. So...um, I had some rice for dinner, watched in great fascination the interactions between Cody's dad and Kate, and then we watched the movie The Island.

It was a pretty movie--had great use of color (was visually striking overall, actually) and some interesting ideas, but altogether Cody and I both decided we didn't really like it. Its "depth" seemed too forced, I didn't find the characters endearing at all, the action scenes seemed like they were randomly inserted, and it just felt like the same old plot device I've heard way too many times in English class. Also, it was overlong.

Cody and I left his dad's house at about 8:30 PM and went to find this party someone in Chamber Choir was holding. It took us a while to find her house, but Cody found it by noting Joey's car--which has a big crunch on one of its back corners. I felt a little awkward at the party--although I knew over half of the people there, I kind of just blend into the background and follow Cody around like a lost puppy most of the time. I'm the type of person who people mistake for being shy or quiet unless I'm around people who I'm close with or people with really similar interests. ^^; But I had quite a bit of fun anyway--there was a big game of charades (very amusing XD;), lots of interesting conversations, good food, a hilarious and rousing game of "balloon hackeysack", and fireworks at midnight. I gave Cody the first hug of the New Year, and said "Rabbit rabbit!" for good luck.

At about 12:15 am, Cody gave Chris a ride home, and then me. I got the front seat--ahahaha, I win! Gave him a big hug, grabbed my stuff, and here I am. I had a fun New Years--I hope everyone else did, too!

IT'S 2006, PEOPLE!

I can't believe it. o_o

Now I'm going to go finish reading that Anbu and then probably go to bed.

Love you all, and I really do hope everyone has a good year this time around. 2006 should be a good one!
