I started crying partway through it... It's so sad to read, but also insightful and meaningful. I feel a more closure now, at least, like I'm not just hanging here suspended, but instead that I can actually mourn for the loss of this amazing person. I'm sure I'll be sad for a while, as he was someone I truly admired and was inspired by. I feel like every time I watch any of his pieces I have a deeper appreciation for it and for his hard work, talent, and dedication to his stories.
It's kind of interesting to me that the last of my nine Millennium Actress cels I bought is one of Chiyoko in the astronaut suit, looking sad. It's not from the final scenes of the movie or anything, I believe it's from after Genya saves her, but it still seems symbolic in a way. I don't know, I'm reading into things too much again.

I went to the intake center today, which was...well, I basically sorted mealworms the entire time. Believe it or not, sorting mealworms is an activity I greatly enjoy. (I also made a mess/had a bunch of humorous mishaps when trying to tube feed a band-tailed pigeon, but that's another matter, haha.) A little while into my mealworm-sorting, Jan came and brought the new order of 10k mealworms in.
They were ALL dead from the heat. As far as I could tell, every single one of them. :( Hopefully our group will be getting a free replacement order from the company, because...fail. Meanwhile, I froze some of the dead mealworms for use in making baby bird feeding formula. The other 8000 or so, though?
They went to my chickens. :D Needless to say, I have the happiest chickens EVER today! You should've seen the rate at which they were chugging down those mealworms! I watched them with great amusement for a good half-hour.
Speaking of chickens, I have a few girls and boys that are in need of names! Can you volunteer some ideas?
My two blue laced red wyandotte girls I got from Candace! They're sweet and gorgeous. One of them has a badly misshapen beak, but it doesn't affect her quality of life so it's not a problem. :) I would like names that go together for them if possible.
I didn't get a better picture of the cross-beaked girl because she kept going in places I couldn't easily photograph her, but here's a picture of the other one:
My porcelain OEGB cockerel also needs a name:
Prefer a name that starts with "R" because all of the roosters I'm fairly sure I'm keeping for my main flock so far start with R. Otherwise I was thinking Mytho, but if anyone can think of a nice R name that's preferable! He's molting/a bit dirty in this picture so he's not as beautiful as he will be within a few months. XD The pullet with him is Eden, my porcelain OEGB hen, who will be his mate in the spring when I breed them. :D
Okay, I guess those are the only three that need names, for some reason the other two cockerels (who I may find homes for) named themselves.
So here are a few of my named birds! (And some new chickies who aren't ready for names yet.)

Royal the bantam black sumatra cockerel! He looks kind of scrappy and silly right now because it takes sumatra roosters quite a while to grow in their (rather complex) feathers all the way, but soon enough he is going to be magnificent. He's already just iridescent all over. *A*
Rocket the old english game bantam cockerel! I'm not quite sure what color he is yet, to be honest. But I adore him! He's so cute and friendly and has a nice crow.
This is Rio, the splash old english game bantam cockerel. He is very friendly and funny (as well as pretty!) and he likes to peck at the zippers on my shoes. ♥
Starlet the spangled old english game bantam pullet. Sweet and cute! Oh, and that's Coconut in the background.
Porcia the silver spangled hamburg bantam hen proving yet again that I cannot get a photo of her that is truly representative of her beauty. I need to stalk her one day and snap away and hope I get a better one. Anyway, she is stunning in real life. :D
Henny Penny, the partridge rock hen that Candace gave me. This is an awful picture of her but the other one I got was even worse! Anyway, she's a funny girl who likes to talk a lot and she somehow fit in with the rest of the flock from day one, which is highly unusual.
Kiisa the blue old english game bantam pullet, with Rexy the bantam black sumatra pullet (? Her gender is still slightly up in the air but I THINK she's a girl).
Tawny and Tucson the serama pullets from the four serama chicks I got in early June! The other two seramas from that group found a great home. :D These two girls are a little flighty but very cute, and still very much growing into themselves. These two were so hard to photograph, they wouldn't stop moving!
Charming and her three chicks, who are not quite fully feathered but getting close! They're cute little things. They sneak out of their coop all of the time and hang out by the garbage can I keep the chicken food in. .___. (There's actually a fourth chick that's about a week younger than these four but is actually their sibling, but it hangs out with Splash and I didn't get a picture of it. I will, though, it's going to be very pretty!)
Random group shot of chickens hanging out on some of the cages I keep in the corner of the coop so the guinea fowl can't boss everyone around all the time. They all like to perch on those cages.
The call ducks because they're too cute not to take photos of!
Aaand the newest two serama chicks when they were just a few hours old!
They're TINY little fluffs, perhaps about the size of a cotton ball? They're darling! They live in my room with me for the next few weeks or more. They're very fluffy and active now.
I really ought to take some better pictures of the chickens sometime, with more artistic value (these plus a lot more were all snapped in ten or fifteen minutes), but in the meantime hopefully these will suffice.
And it's 3 AM and I don't really feel like going to sleep but I don't know what I feel like doing otherwise. Hmmmm.
