We put Princess down. The vet, who was very kind through the whole process, said it was absolutely the right thing to do, and that nothing we could do would restore her quality of life. She was sedated and more-or-less unconscious when they gave the injection and it was very fast, peaceful, and painless. Mom and I petted her and talked to her for a long time before.

I will miss her so much. It'll be so strange not to have my beautiful black-and-white kitty who has been with me almost as long as I can remember. She was so special to me. It's going to take me a long time to come to grips with the fact that she's really gone. I'm sure I'll cry on and off for quite a while and mourn.

But...I know we made the right decision for her, and that she lived a long, happy life. Of course I will mourn her and miss her, but I'll be all right. I have no regrets or guilt regarding anything in her life or death. I'm so happy that I got sixteen wonderful years with her.

Rest in peace, Princess. I love you so much and I'll never, ever forget you.

But it sounds like she had a wonderful life with you. I am sad that she is gone but glad she had those 16 years with you.
