Chicken Craziness
Apr. 5th, 2010 10:21 pmSpring break is over! So sad. ;; Well, okay, school isn't bad or anything, but I just...want to do other things, haha.
Um. I went to the feed store today briefly, and. Er. Two chicks kinda...followed me home. .___.; They're old english game bantams (one of my two favorite breeds along with seramas) in some sort of odd colors. One looks like it might be porcelain, which would be amazing, and the other is a pretty light brown-blue of some sort and I'm not sure what color it will be ultimately. They're about three weeks old, I think, and I put them in with The Salula, Minky, and Poppy, who accepted them quite readily. I fully blame the chick fever imposed by BackYardChickens members posting their chicks. XD Plus, this makes it a little easier to wait for my eggs to hatch! I'll post pictures tomorrow if I get a chance, otherwise just whenever I have time. They're so cute!
In other crazy chicken news, my wildlife rehab group got a call today on a flock of fifteen to twenty chickens who need to be rescued from a property where they're not being cared for and the owners want to be rid of them. No, I am not keeping any of them unless they happen to have one from the short list of fancy bantam breeds I'm after, but with the help of some other rehabbers I'm going to catch them and find them homes. The catching part is going to be the hardest, I don't think finding them homes will be difficult at all. I'm going to post on BackYardChickens, Craigslist, and put up ads at local feed stores. Chicken wrangling begins Wednesday morning!
Okay. I can't believe it. I have caught SIX flying Pikachu now, and ZERO surfers. WHAT. I even switched Pokémon in the walker! I will continue trying, but just...WTF?
