The World of Chickens
Via: Online Schools

I was so tired yesterday I ended up leaving class early and just sleeping pretty much all day. I missed watching the Volkner episode with chat as a result (;___;), but at least I feel a fair amount better today... Still not the greatest, but at least not as downright lousy as I was. Mom is still having a rough time with her post-concussion syndrome so I've been taking her to doctors' appointments and whatnot.

This morning we had our handyman come and set up the new serama and duck coop! :D I'll take pictures (and probably video of the ducks playing in the water) tomorrow. It's really nice, they love it! The serama chicks are getting bigger and bigger by the day.

Gonna go eat lunch now. My Social Psychology class was canceled today, so I've just been hanging out in the computer lab for the last hour or so.

Oh my gosh, the part about male chicks made me so sad. :C

Tell me about it. :( I just saw a video of what takes place with the male chicks in a hatchery, and I'm definitely not buying any chicks from a hatchery ever again. :/

Haha, that's funny! Now I'm curious as to why as well...

Well, I certainly learned things from this... and am now freaked out about chickens being in the viscinity of airplanes. What a bizarre test.

I know, it's pretty bizarro. I've actually seen them do the test on Mythbusters. O___o;

Very informative! It made me reluctant to eat any more chicken, or eggs...

I think we have different opinions of what's cool because PETA-style propaganda in my face is less than cool IMO. :(

It's really kickass graphic design, though.

Though it might come off that way a bit, it's just intended to be a fact sheet, not pro-animal rights or anything. It was posted on BackYardChickens, which I know from experience can be rather hostile about people being pro-animal rights (you should have seen some of the responses when I posted a simple thread for vegetarians to swap recipes...) with everyone thinking it was really interesting, and looking at the citations not one is from an animal rights-related site.

Agree about the graphic design, though. :)

Agreed. Believe me, @placetohide, if you think this is PETA-style, you haven't seen anything.
I thought it was a very unbiased and interesting sheet. :)
