So far this year I've pretty much failed at writing LJ entries! Probably because thusfar I haven't really done anything in particular. Well, I ordered my incubator but it's not here yet, and I don't have any chicks from Splash yet, so life has been uneventful. Just going to cover a few things, under cuts and mostly quite brief.

But of course! Guinea fowl! Who else would it be?

The funny thing is they do actually keep coming and knocking on the sliding glass door, which drives the dogs crazy because they always think it's someone they need to bark at. Nope, just guinea fowl. The guinea fowl also enjoy making a ruckus whenever anyone walks past the property and/or cats are in suspicious places (ie, anywhere higher than the ground).

Having owned guinea fowl for over a year now, I think they might just give emus and ostriches a run for their money in the category of Most Hilarious Bird. Every time I even think about my guinea fowl I giggle a bit. The first time I saw a flock of guinea fowl they were following a peacock around UC Davis and I laughed so hard at the ridiculous sight and sound I nearly cried of laughter. :'D

This is a drawing I did yesterday of my Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky team, Larka the Eevee and Tan the Vulpix. I'm still fairly unimpressed with my digital coloring skills, but at least I'm practicing (a little, anyway--I seriously need to practice way more than I do).

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to. Tag yourselves!

Honestly, I'm not currently addicted to anything in particular, so I'll just share some persisting favorites of mine kinda at random.

1. "When Your Mind's Made Up" from the movie Once. I love this whole soundtrack so very much, but this song in particular always strikes a chord in me no matter how many times I've listened to it in the last...year? Two years? However long it's been. Gorgeous. Everyone should see the movie, too--it's downright wonderful. ♥

2. "Konna ni Chikaku De..." by Crystal Kay.

It seems I am forever fated to be addicted to this song. I turn it up every single time it comes on, ahaha. And I haven't even seen Nodame! (Yes, I know I should!)

3. "Suteki na Collection" by Sachiko Kobayashi (from Pokémon).

I used to listen to this song all the time years ago and eventually I lost the mp3. I just recently found it again and now I'm back to listening to it a bunch. It's kind of an odd song, but it grows on you! I think it's pretty catchy and cool. This isn't the best quality mp3 of it on Youtube (either that or my computer is being stupid), please ask if you'd like an mp3!

4. "Porcelain" by Moby

I originally heard Moby's music in Earthlings, so it still makes me emotional to nearly the point of tears every time I hear it, and sometimes literally to the point of tears, and makes my stomach wrench. This song is particularly beautiful. The video I embedded is wonderfully done so I recommend watching it (it's a video regarding the conundrum of animal shelters and pet overpopulation), but it is somewhat upsetting. Be warned if you're super sensitive. You can just listen to the beautiful song if that's the case. Again, not the best quality, I can provide my mp3 if you'd like it.

5. "Genesis of Aquarion" by AKINO featuring bless4 (written by Yoko Kanno).

Definitely one of my favorite songs of all time. I've been listening to it constantly for years and years and it never loses an ounce of its power on me. ♥ (Again, I've never seen the anime. But I've heard it's crummy anyway, so whatever. Maybe someday if I'm bored. XD)

6. "From the Rooftop~Somewhere in the Silence (Sniper's Theme)" by Ilaria Graziano (written by Yoko Kanno).

I love this song! So evocative, it sends chills down my spine. Listen to the whole thing, after 1:55 it changes its tone. Seriously love the lyrics to this song, too. "Visions and memories/Where someone once laid flowers/For the past/And things to come." Love it. *___*

7. "All We Wanna Do" from Pokémon

This song makes me so happy and nostalgic. Basically any old Pokémon songs do, of course, and especially the whole 2BA Master CD, but this song sort of became the theme of my group of friends in 6th/7th grade or so, and it also kind of summarizes how I feel about the Pokémon fandom (ie, mushy happy friendship feelings). Yes, it's cheesy, but that's what's sweet and wonderful about it! Plus, if I just put the original Pokémon theme, that would be too generic!

Also, please do this? I'm curious!

Leave a ONE WORD comment that you think best describes me. It can only be one word. No more than one word. Then copy & paste this post to your own journal so I can leave a word about you.

I adore that Crystal Kay song. And, yeap, def watch the anime. It's brilliant, as are the live action series (how I got into Nodame in the first place, and I think it may even be better than the anime) and the original manga.

Shall steal this and attempt to post it on my LJ.

Caring!

And you should totally watch Nodame Cantabile, although in some ways I enjoy the live action drama more than the anime (at least the 1st season). :)

Aquarion is a fun series. It's pretty solid, quite silly, and a blast to watch. There's even an episode about cosplay. But, I'm pretty biased! =D

And for the word meme, I'll have to steal agree with [livejournal.com profile] kirakim!

Devoted, loving, or imaginative. Take your pick! :D

That animal vid made me cry. Wish people would get their shit together and stop those kinds of things from happening.

Have a great day!
