My aunt Nancy, my dad's sister, passed away last night or this morning. She was just in her early fifties. She was really close to Ryan and I and loved us so much, and she was someone I always enjoyed being around. She had such a vibrant, hilarious personality, and she was planning on coming up and visiting us sometime, though it never happened because she was always sick. She had a lot of physical problems--anorexia, she smoked, fibromyalgia (and the accompanying painkillers), asthma, and I don't even know what else. She had an asthma attack and...I don't really know the details right now.
I'm kind of in shock, honestly. It's hard for me to understand how she could be gone so fast, though with all of her problems I suppose it's not really surprising. I hadn't seen her in person for a long time because she always seemed to be sick when she was supposed to come to our family gatherings, which makes me so sad because I loved her and she loved my brother and I so much. I have so many funny and fun memories of her.
Life really is so fragile. I just wish I could have seen her one last time before she went.
It might take a while for this to sink in. The last time I lost a relative was when my grandfather died, and I can hardly even remember that.
