Those of you who are doing NaNoWriMo this year, add me! And give me your username in the comments of this post, too! If you know what you're writing about yet, give me a title and summary! I'm unfortunately not that far yet.

Those of you who are on the fence about NaNoWriMo or feel even remotely that it might be fun to try, DO IT. :D It's fun and wonderful and amazing, and even if you don't finish you'll still get more words down than if you hadn't tried it! It's a fantastic experience with tons of support, and your novel does not need to be serious or meaningful or anything like that. The forums are incredible, and write-ins tend to be an inordinate amount of fun. Just try it out!

This part is just for my reference:

* October 21st -- Songbird Team Meeting @ Jan's (?), 2 PM
* October 22nd -- Animal rights presentation/paper for Ethics due
*October 25th -- NaNoWriMo Meet and Greet in Sacramento
* October 28th -- Potential NaNoWriMo Nevada County Meet and Greet
* October 30th-November 1st -- YaoiCon
* November 1st -- NaNoWriMo Begins!
* November 6th, 13th, (16, 18, 23, 25?), 27th -- Nevada County Write-ins
* November 8th -- Corgi Faire in Dixon

* November 30th -- End of NaNoWriMo! Hold a party?

I think I may have a try at it. I doubt I'll meet the 50,000 words, but it will force me to write more of the story I've had in my head for years and haven't had a chance to write out. Thankfully have a lot of the research and such done already, and a rough timeline of events, so that will hopefully helps things along. I do think I need something to force me to actually sit down and do it once and for all. I'm Akaihane over there, by the way :)

Hooray! I'm glad you've decided to give it a try! It's a great opportunity to get writing on those stories that have been with you for years and won't leave you alone. The best advice I can give you is try to write every single day, even if it's just a few dozen words, because it keeps your momentum up. Going any days without writing is dangerous territory. Good luck! I'll be here to help support you!

Be sure to go hang out on the NaNo forums--it's a great way to get those creative juices flowing and get you all excited about sitting down and writing.

Added you!

Ha! We're already friended and such! And I posted in your thread. >.> I'm starting to get hyped up, so I'm gonna have to keep myself from starting early by continuing to plot out the rules of my setting (flexible as they may turn out to be).
