The Yoko Kanno concert was...KJSNDFKJANFKJANFKJANFAFJN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I'm still more-or-less speechless over it, and it's been a few days. *______* MOST AMAZING CONCERT EVER!

I think I may just have to write my report on the concert on the train ride home from LA, because that'll be a good, peaceful time to work on it. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to remember anything important by looking at the list of what was played in what order anyway. :D By the time I get back to Gin's house at night after spending all day doing whatever, I tend to basically just flop down and go to sleep. It doesn't help that I have an awful cold and cough that has been draining me of my strength. ;____;

Yesterday I went and walked around Ueno park and zoo, the day before we went to the Pokémon Center (bought so much!), the day before that was the CONCERT, and yeah.

Today I'm going to Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, tomorrow I'm going to visit GAINAX, Sunday I'm going to Akihabara, and then Monday I head home.

Man, I really wish I hadn't gotten sick. ;; But at least I'm getting to do all the things I wanted to do in Japan, and my being sick didn't change my enjoyment of the concert. Anyway, that's all for now! I will upload pictures and write more about the concert and the trip in general when I get home. :3

Yeah, a friend of mine was doing an anthropology of Tokyo report on the otaku subculture, specifically doujinshi, so we camped out at Otome Road and Akihabara a lot.

Thank you~! Gah, it was so so so so amazing. *____*

Funny you'd say that--I went there today! But I swore off spending money on anything other than food and train tickets until Sunday when I go to Akihabara, so I didn't buy anything this time. It was awesome, though, and I'm hoping I find some awesome doujin in Akiba. I'm sure I will. :D

Yamada Toyonori is my contact! My friends and I had dinner with him at the GAINAX party this year after talking to him last year as well, and the three of us became friends with him. :D

Oooo~ mandarake is a money drain yeah but they have such cheap doujinshi *_* you might want to make a trip back if you're more into yaoi, the mandarake in akihabara has more male-oriented hentai stuff I think. although there are probably other shops you can find stuff at lol @_@

hahaha sounds like fun :B

I tried meeting up with my friend from Italy in front of the Mandarake but we ended up missing each other; I was waiting at the tables downstairs (where I ended up falling asleep) and she was waiting around the entrance up the stairs... FAIL XD It was too bad really; unfortunately I left Japan the next day so we didn't have a chance to meet up after that.

Weirdly enough though, by coincidence, at the same time some other girl at Mandarake recognized her from a doujinshi event she had attended the day before. (Well because she's Italian.. lol no one would have noticed me since I'm asian XD)

haha I remember the tables, the ones in front of the store on the lower level? We sat there for hours writing about the people going in and out.
We saw a lot of men in drag going in.

What Centimetre said, Akihabara is really a man place lolol
I got weirded out by the fact there's second hand hentai there.
Used hentai.

yeah those tables. lol not very comfortable for sleeping on XDDD

men in drag?? I didn't see any men at all. There were cosplayers though, but I'm pretty sure they were all just store employees. :B

No no, there was men going in there trying to blend in, not cosplayers. Definitely men. It was strange.
I didn't see any cosplayers though! Wish I did...
