Aside from that, it's also Pi Day, White Day, and Albert Einstein's birthday. :D
I sure haven't been posting as much as usual, and my posts as of late have been so unhappy! Going to try to change that now that I'm feeling a bit better.
to everyone who commented on my last post. Your responses were so thoughtful and sweet and exactly what I needed to hear, I can't even tell you how much I appreciate every single one of them. I felt so much better about things when I read them. ♥ I may go back and reply and I may not depending on whether I have much to say in response or not, but...yeah. You guys are the best. ♥ ;;
I have decided to drop Chemistry, almost 100%, emphasized by the fact that I was absolutely miserable during Chemistry on Wednesday, but I'm going to wait a few days just so we can maybe see if there are any alternatives when it comes to the insurance problem. Also, I want to wait until my birthday is over for the drama and lecturing and general unhappiness of it all to unfold. Not looking forward to it. D:
I've been spending time with my animals a lot lately! Wednesday after class I got home and put Oliver (lovebird) and the two cockatiels out in the sun, and took the guinea pigs, ducks, and two of the chickens and put them in the fenced area we have in our yard and sat with them for two hours. The ducks and buffs (the two chickens--they're Buff Orpingtons) had no idea what to think of the guinea pigs, haha. And while I was there Bob (female cat, despite her name) came up to snuggle in my lap and the sunshine was so nice and it was just great in general. Nothing to put things in perspective like spending time outside in the sunshine with your wonderful animals. ♥
I've been treating the pheasant's leg and it looks like there was most likely nerve damage that may not heal (there's a chance it will, but we'll see), but she's getting around all right so for now so I guess that's just how things are. I'm sad that it happened, but...well, that's just how things go.
I think I'm still kind of in denial about Tia, but I'm very very slowly coming to terms with it. It's like I understand it completely on a rational side but not an emotional one? Ah, but I did cry during Dogtown today when they put one of the dogs down due to symptoms similar to hers so I think I am dealing with it, but just in very small pieces at once. Which...is all right, I think. There will be times when the reality hits me and times when I simply can't understand it, and eventually I'll work through it and fully accept it.
I'm actively searching for a border collie, age six months to four years, good with cats (or at least tolerant of them) and that gets along with Hana. I've filled out some applications for three dogs in Reno and three dogs in Davis, but I haven't sent them yet. I may get Mom's okay to send them off tomorrow because I imagine among those six one might be the dog for us. We'll see--I'll bet if one of them is right for us things will just fall into place. In the meantime I'm continuing to search locally. I went by both pounds yesterday to see what was there and there were a lot of great dogs (...I wanted to take them all home--the pound breaks my heart ;;) but none that were right for us. I spent much of today watching Dog Whisperer and Dogtown and that's made me excited to find a new companion for Hana and have a new dog "project" to work on so to speak. I. LOVE. DOGS. SO MUCH. And although it's soon after losing Tia, I feel ready to take on the fun and challenge and joy of integrating a dog into my life again. The idea of bringing two border collies, one newly rescued, to the dog park just...makes me so excited. Rescuing animals is one of the best feelings in the world for me, and there are endless amounts of animals out there in need of rescue.
I SHIPPED SO MANY PACKAGES TODAY. No, seriously. $80 worth of packages and I still have three to send. Something like thirty-five or forty packages? So not nearly as many as when I shipped the zukan group auction packages, but still, a lot. I came in to the post office with this massive box and felt like a crazy person. The post office people know me quite well now. XD
Need to do some room organizing so I can make a collection post soon!
Today (feels like tomorrow to me because I have to sleep first, but whatever) I'm having Makayla and Daniell over and we're going to do...something. Not sure what yet. But it should be fun!
Definitely working on cosplay stuff once the birthday has passed. :D I have to get materials together and definitely need to at least start the head ASAP. Umbreon is going to be SO FUN to cosplay--I'm really looking forward to it. ♥ I even have a huge Pokéball to carry around!
Want to watch more anime/read more manga so I can make more fandom-centric posts~ All I'm actively watching at the moment is Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and slowy/erratically watching the second season of Mysterious Ways, and the former is only twenty minutes a week and I can't fangirl the latter with anyone because no one has seen it! :(
EDIT: Just submitted doggie applications to the Yolo County and Reno dog rescue groups--we'll see what happens! Ahhh, kind of excited/nervous.

It's inevitable that someone will get ticked off... but there's always this definite truth you can rely on: this, too, will pass. I look back 5 years in my life and wonder wtf I was so worked up over... heh.

I get caught up in the moment and get upset when my parents are upset, especially because they're both the RANT ABOUT IT FOR MONTHS types, but really, in the scheme of things, it'll be okay. Thanks for the luck on both counts as well! I'm glad that you enjoy my talking about animals, and it's good that you think of them more now. Most of the planet's inhabitants are other species and they certainly deserve more love and respect and recognition than they get. ♥ And animals can give the purest and most uncomplicated love ever, so the more you give them the more you receive.
YES. It's about 12"/30 cm tall and super-soft! I use it sort of as a cushion on my bed.

You may have some unpleasantness to come, but I'm sure once it's all over and done with and hopefully sorted, you'll feel a weight lift off your shoulders.
I wish you luck in your search for another dog too! I love Border Collies X3 My aunt used to have two of her own, sisters named Tammy and Meg. I think either one or both live with my cousin now. They are such beautiful dogs. It's nice to see you happy and focused on working with the new dog you'll eventually get, I think it'll do you some good too, take your mind off things and give you a very positive goal to work towards.

Okay, so I don't know how anal and "big-bother" -esque your insurance is, btu I know of a couple of people that dropped classes mid-semester and had no problem staying on their parent's insurance because they never bothered to check after classes started. Chances are it won't be a big deal at all.
