KYAAAA MACROSS FRONTIER OST 2 IS OUT!

It's almost 3 AM and I really should be going to sleep, but who can sleep when there is new Yoko Kanno music to listen to? Okay, plenty of people I'm sure, but I'm not among them. Listening to it now and I'm quite happy to put it mildly. :D

Man, I was going to finish Natsume Yuujinchou today but first we went to Yuba City to go shopping (ew, Yuba City) and then KK came over and we chattered excitedly about cosplay and lots of other anime-related things for a few hours. I suppose I'll finish it tomorrow instead. :D

I wasn't going to make any new costumes next year because mascot costumes are so expensive to make (usually anywhere from $200 to $450 each) and I have to save for Japan, but I really want to do an Umbreon mascot costume. Hmmm, it won't be too expensive because it's only two colors of fur~ I might just do that. I've been wanting to do a mascot-style Pokémon costume for quite a while now and just thinking about making an Umbreon makes me excited.

Okay, now back to extreme happiness for my ears. *Worships Yoko Kanno happily*

Oh god Yoko Kanno @3@ ♥ Cyber Bird was like.... the saving grace song during a horrible time in my life. Also INNER UNIVERSE OPEIFOHSD I didn't know she did the Macross Frontier OST! I really need to finish that show.

I'm a crazy Yoko Kanno fangirl, haha. I'm glad Cyber Bird and Inner Universe (both gorgeous songs) had such an impact on you! Her music is so powerful and emotional--I feel almost like I couldn't live without it. ♥

*is in shock* $200 to $450 per costume! How long did it take you to make your boota and densuke costumes btw??

Yes, faux fur is expensive! The fur I used for my Boota costume was around $27 a yard or something horrifying like that. D: Wonderflex (which I use to create the heads) is also not cheap--generally around $50 for the amount I need to make one (large) head.

And it's hard to say because I worked on them on-and-off. The Densuke head I started a few months before but only worked on it occasionally, and I did a lot of cram work in the last few days before the convention. XD
