Boy, am I tired. Let's try to cut this semi-short.

On Friday, we went shopping in Roseville. I read World Weekly News while Mom was shopping in the grocery store. Apparently, aliens are going to count the votes for President in Iraq. Of course, I believe that. XP There were also a number of "OMG teh rare aminal CROSSBREEDS!" AKA somebody having fun on Photoshop. Unfortunately, I can't remember most of it now (I was half-asleep while reading it), but that magazine is brilliant. I should get a subscription and stow all the lovely stories away. Whoever writes that magazine has a better imagination than anyone I can think of (and this is coming from a girl who writes fanfiction about Pikachu and demonic possession and Multiple Personality Disorder and other such craziness through Pikachu's POV, and makes it sound believable and in-character. XD)

Saturday, Nicole and I decided to go with Cody to his choir concert in Sacramento. Cody's dad drove us all the way down there. Even though the concert started at 8 PM, we had to leave at about 3 PM to get to the rehearsal on time. Kirstin and Gretchen (who are in the same choir as Cody) were at the rehearsal, too. Kirstin took one look at Nicole and I, groaned, and rolled her eyes. She's the type of person who pretends to be disturbed by everything, including the way we follow Cody absolutely everywhere. She was actually happy to see us, though. I can tell.

Anyway, after the rehearsal, we went out for sushi. Sushi is our friend, and it was very tasty. I attempted eating it with chopsticks and made a mess. ._. You'd think with the level of anime obsession I'm at, I could at least use chopsticks correctly, but no.

Then we went to the church for the actual concert itself. It was hilarious--on the car ride over, Cody was in his Ayato shirt, but he had to change into his suit for the concert, so he changed his shirt in the car and threw it in the back seat (where Nicole and I were). Nicole was already cuddling with Cody's Ryuichi concert shirt (which he happened to have with him in the car), and when he threw the Ayato shirt next to me, I went "Ooo!" and pounced on it. Nicole started laughing so hard at our...odd...behavior that she couldn't breathe for about five minutes. We're such awful fangirls.

The concert was absolutely beautiful (as was the church it was in, even with all my cynicism about established religion). Nicole and I, being the weirdos that we are, kept thinking about drawing shounen-ai in a church and whether or not that would be blasphemous.

We got back to Nevada City at about 11 PM. Cody was really sleepy, so he decided he wasn't going to spend the night at my Mom's like he was initially planning on doing. Nicole and I waited at Nicole's house (where Cody's dad dropped us off) for my Mom to pick us up, but, oddly, she wasn't showing up. We finally got a call saying that her car had broken down, and she was at the gas station about a two minute walk from Nicole's. Nicole and I walked down there. After a long while, we got the car towed and a classmate of mine from my Freshman year Biology class decided, quite kindly, to give my Mom, Ryan, Nicole, my dog Lily, and I a ride to our house, because he just so happened to be out and about. Thanks Owen!

...All this the night before an anime convention. ._.;; We got home at 1 AM and went straight to sleep.

Well, early in the morning we woke up, explained the situation to Cody via the phone, and he drove over to my house. We decided we would go to the convention in his car (with my Mom driving), because Mom's truck had about ten bales of hay in the back, and her car was obviously out of commission.

As expected from us, on the way down to Anime Destiny, we sang along with lots of anime music and watched the fog outside once we got to the Bay Area. We felt distinctly like we were in an anime--specifically, I felt like I was in RahXephon. It was cool.

Costumes were the priority when we first arrived. Mom dropped us off in the UC Berkeley parking lot so we could run off to Registration. While we were registering, the wind started blowing everything away, so we helped move the registration booths indoors. Then Nicole went into the bathroom to change into her Faye costume (for about forty minutes -_-) and I had Mom fix my tail (due to all the chaos, she hadn't fixed it yet). I also created an entirely random sign in katakana. It was basically just some Pikachu gibberish, but I had fun holding it up every time people took pictures of me. ^^;;

As usual, Nicole and I had our picture taken too many times to count, and we got plenty of compliments. Also, I took some pictures, but because of the digital camera malfunctioning, I won't be able to post them here for a while.

We went off to the AMV contest first. It was completely superb, and I'm downloading those very videos right now to burn onto a CD-R. I don't think there was one video I didn't like. The choices for voting were extremely difficult, and Nicole, Cody, and I had to collaborate to come to any sort of conclusions at all.

...I don't really remember much of the convention. As usual, it sort of went by in a blur, even though it was small and had a relaxed pace.

I did a little buying, but there wasn't as much as far as dealers go as I was expecting. I got TRF-Chan an excellent gift. I know she'll absolutely love it. I can't wait to send it, but I'm having fun looking at it meanwhile.

I also bought the Pokémon First Movie Japanese soundtrack, with the radio drama and book that comes with it and everything, for $10. It's official (I'm 100% sure), and was unopened. I was happy to find that. I also got a little Hitokage (Charmander) keychain from the Pokémon Center in Japan ($1), a setup of a battle between Pikachu and Mew ($1), some really good strawberry Pocky ($2), free manga, a Gravitation poster ($3), and TRF-Chan's confidential gift (which was $15). I think it's the least I've ever spent at an anime convention, other than JTAF (but that was because I had practically no money at that convention).

Ummm...let's see. We made a bunch of friends at the convention and had long conversations with them, Nicole met one of her internet buddies IRL (we kept dragging him around with us), we watched the karaoke (most of it was awful--but there were a few good people. Cody was going to go up in his Ryuichi shirt and sing Sleepless Beauty because he actually can sing well, but he wasn't confidant about knowing the lyrics. He'll do it next time, after he's studied the lyrics for a little while.), we met up with Raj and Brett again (Raj sings Ask DNA from Cowboy Bebop and Strangers from Wolf's Rain, for those who don't know), and then we left at 7 PM so we could get home at a reasonable hour. Nicole and Cody both fell asleep in the car, but I was too busy singing along to Inuyasha music to fall asleep. XP I simply don't sleep well in cars.

So, we got home at 9 PM-ish, Cody and Nicole left, and I went to bed after eating some tasty coffee cake.

Today was simply exhausting. I was so tired, and school was boring and normal. Nothing happened, either, other than me giving Cody a picture of a giant turkey chasing pilgrims in a car that I found in a magazine. It was classic. For those who don't know, Cody is afraid of turkeys because of a traumatic childhood incident.

I should be going. I need sleep/download more AMVs/do that Creative Writing assignment that was due last Wednesday. XP I feel like a horrible person. ^^;;
