Today was so busy and stressful, but it basically all worked itself out in the end. :D

I was up until 4 AM reading that stupid, stupid Macross Frontier shipping thread (which makes me roll my eyes with its ridiculousness) BUT I CAN'T STOP READING IT. Anyway, early in the morning one of our wildlife transport volunteers showed up at my house to pick up the grosbeak and take her to the vet. (I am now calling the grosbeak a her simply because that's what Dr. Lund referred to her as and I like assigning arbitrary genders.) Well, she didn't call ahead so basically I heard knocking, jumped out of bed, had to give the grosbeak her antibiotics, and got her ready to go while still half-asleep. I tried to sleep soundly after that, but of course the cute little mystery bird heard me get up and he spent the next several hours peeping away.

Then I got a call from Janet asking me to sort out a situation with a bird in Brownsville, which is an hour away. No one lives closer than an hour away from Brownsville, and it seems like every time someone from Brownsville calls they aren't willing to bring the bird to us. So I spent a while worrying about the situation, and then I called the lady back and she said the bird flew away on its own. Which was a huge relief.

Then I was trying to finish packaging things, as I ended up sending fourteen packages (not yours yet, [livejournal.com profile] hitchi, I really really didn't have time. ;__;). Once I was done with that, I had to put the cowbirds and towhee in the cage with the robins because mom was going to pick me up in the truck so we could fit their huge cage in it (of course, though, the birds couldn't ride in the back with the cage). Then I cleaned the sunroom really fast and not all that well, packed up everything else I needed, and got in the car. Of course, just as I was going to the car, a phone call I was waiting for came. .__.; I had to hurriedly say "I'll call you later!" and leave. I did call her later, but got no answer. Hopefully she'll call me tomorrow, as I'm supposed to get another robin from her tomorrow.

From there I went to the post office, where I realized I had forgotten to do the customs form and tape up one of the boxes, so I hurriedly did so while the post office lady lectured me about doing the customs forms beforehand. (I do normally!)

We drove around for a little while and then called the vet where the grosbeak was. We had to hurry and pick her up before the vet office closed, which luckily worked out just fine. Dr. Lund says she has no wing fractures he could find, and basically just that she's weak and skinny and needs to be fed a bunch. Good news assuming there's nothing internal going on with her.

Then we went to Janet's house to pick up a robin. However, this trip ended up being perfect. She had a whole flight cage of blackbirds, so I decided to put the cowbirds and towhee in with the blackbirds, thus ridding me of a lot of inconvenience in dealing with their huge cage. In fact, Janet took the cage, too, as she's seeing Deb (who owns the cage) soon. Janet also took my mystery bird because she has a mystery bird about the same size and she didn't want to give up hers, so I just took the robin.

In short, I came with:
- Two cowbirds
- A towhee
- Two robins
- A mystery bird
- A grosbeak
- A huuuuge cage

And I left with:
- Three robins
- A grosbeak
- More mealworms! Which I had run out of and needed to feed the grosbeak.

*Phew* That took a big load of stress off of me. She's also taking over my Tuesday phone shift, as I leave for Anime Expo Tuesday, and will babysit the robins while I'm gone. So it worked out perfectly. Now I just need to find a place for the grosbeak while I'm gone and get the fourth robin and all will be well. :)

I still have much organizing to go for Anime Expo, but I'm confident it'll all go great. :D

That's all for now. I'm unusually tired considering it's only 12:38 AM. That's early for me these days.

Oooh, I have a few last-minute touches to do on my Densuke costume as soon as I get a chance. I really need to get pictures of my Boota and Densuke costumes. I'm so proud of how they came out!
