I finally got to finishing Princess Tutu today! KK and I had a grand time watching it and WTF-ing at the various animals in the series and all the crazy twists and turns the plot took. I thought it was a really amazing series and I think it exceeded my (high) expectations for it. It was so well-told and complex and beautifully done. A brilliantly told story. I loved the ending, too. It fit the series so well. The whole story-within-a-story idea is so fascinating to me, and this was one of the most incredible uses of it I've ever seen. The themes of giving in to and defying your fate were so well-done, and I loved the series' use of metaphor and stories to connect to and make points about the characters and their situation. I would love to rewatch the series in a month or two to pick up some of the subtleties I undoubtedly missed this time around. Anyway, it was a very enjoyable and surprising series. Despite the title and silliness of the beginning of the series, I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a good story. Because that's exactly what it is--an amazing, dark, bizarre fairytale of a story. :D If you decide to pick it up and bear through the beginning, you won't be disappointed by where the story eventually ends up.

Argh, still need to get up to episode seven of Kaiba. I keep not having time. :/ As usual, I have a variety of other series to watch, too. I also need to rewatch episode one of Honey & Clover for [livejournal.com profile] hc_rewatch, which is going to be a lot of fun. :D

I also need to take new pictures of and post the sculptures.

I got a random call today during Princess Tutu. One of our rehabbers called me about a lady who was calling about a domesticated fowl (she wasn't sure what it was) that was in her yard. She said it was very friendly and talkative and that she'd like us to take it away before the neighborhood cats got it. I mistakenly thought it was a tame pheasant based off of her description and got excited that my pheasant would have a friend, so I called mom up and asked her if she minded going to pick it up for me. LOL, it turned out it was a turkey and it belonged to one of the lady's neighbors. XD They came and picked it up, clearing up the whole silly situation. Aww, I wish it had been a tame pheasant. :(

OMFG, of all the stupid things to get involved in, I've gotten obsessed with reading this thread on the AnimeSuki forums about whether Macross Frontier will have an Alto/Ranka ending or an Alto/Sheryl ending. >__>; I can't stop reading it! It reminds me of the old Pokémon shipping wars back in the day and it's stupidly addictive. It doesn't help that I have a clear side I'm on. .__.; For those who are watching it...which do you prefer? Ranka ending or Sheryl ending?

I'm on side Ranka, for the record. If you're on the Sheryl side I don't mind at all, haha. As irritatingly caught up I'm getting in the debate, it's not like I think it's a big deal or anything. (Unlike some of the people in the debate, apparently.)
