Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] kirarakim! I hope you have a great one! :D It's also my little brother's seventeenth birthday and my aunt Sue's birthday, so today is a big birthday...day. (Oh, redundancy.)

The day before yesterday (as it is past midnight now) was so busy. XD Suffice to say, the class went well and was bird-filled and enthusiastic and energetic like you wouldn't believe. My part of the class went pretty well. I didn't think I did that great, but I was told by several people (without prompting them) that I did an awesome job, so I guess it was just fine.

I sent the blackbird off with Janet to live with the other blackbirds and the three house sparrows went to a new rehabber, leaving me with only two baby birds. But then a bird came in during the class...and he just happened to be another towhee, right around the same size as mine! He was cat-caught and not looking too bright, but putting him in with the other towhee baby worked wonders. He's on antibiotics for the next week and he has a gash on his stomach, but now that he's survived the night and has a good appetite, I'd say he has a great chance of making it.

The Mystery Bird is still a mystery bird. No one at the class could figure out what he is.

I brought three chickens to the class, and they had quite the time getting leg wrapped/wing wrapped/being subcutaneously hydrated. They were so well-behaved, though. ♥ Dr. Lund is always amazed at how calm and tame my chickens are. One of the chickens even laid an egg in the little cramped cat carrier during the class, haha.

After the class, we went home to drop the chickens off, and then I went to Daniell's house for her graduation party. This was lots of fun, and we had a grand time playing the Wii (this was my first time doing anything on a Wii... I enjoyed it a lot!) and watching Youtube videos and whatnot. 8D I went home well past midnight.

Yesterday my mom, brother, and I went down to Davis to see my aunt (who flew in from Michigan) and my grandma and other aunt/uncle/cousin who all live in Davis. It was reasonably uneventful--I basically just sat around on the computer doing various things and watched Ryan and my cousin Todd playing video games. I came back to discover that the adult jay had escaped from his cage and was hanging around on and near the windowsill. Poor guy was trying to get back outside. :( He might be going to someone who has an aviary tomorrow so he'll have more room and less human contact. I think he'll be a lot happier that way.

I spent the ride back from Davis talking to my mom about my voluntary human extinction beliefs and--while she says I'm "extreme" to some degree--the more I explain, the more she realizes how much it makes sense and concedes that what I'm saying is true. It makes me happy that she doesn't just write me off as a crazy extremist despite having some of the most controversial beliefs of...basically anyone I know. ^^; They really do make sense, though, if people are willing to listen. Anyway, not going to go off on one of my diatribes right now. I'll spare you all.

Today in the morning I have to:

- Package and ship packages (or Tuesday if all else fails)
- Give the towhee his antibiotic dose in the morning and night
- Call Nicole
- Call Louisa
- Watch Kure-nai 10

I think that's all.
