pacificpikachuWhy is it so hot out, California? Can we have spring back now please? It's not even June yet. T__T I hate the heat so much, and it's sapping away my will to do anything at all, much less work on cosplay. I'm going to try to force myself tomorrow, but it looks like Monday and Tuesday are going to be the BIG COSPLAY CRUNCH days.
I transferred the little blackbirds to a newer rehabber who also has blackbirds. They're healthy little baby blackbirds, so I figured they'll be good practice for her, and I also have my hands full with my other birds.
The turkeys are doing...lukewarm. Well, three of them are thriving and walking around, but one of them just can't seem to walk correctly, and one died this morning for some unknown reason. I've been working with the one that can't walk correctly quite a bit--moving the bandages around, feeding it extra, trying to exercise its feet and legs. It's still very much up in the air whether it'll make it or not. Its foot is completely twisted around at a weird angle, and it seems like no matter how I wrap it up, it can't seem to support itself. So, it's rather pitiful and sad to watch. Also, the others trample it if it's in with them, but if I separate it, it does whatever it can to be with the others. :( Poor little thing. I haven't given up on it by any means, but I really won't be surprised if it doesn't make it.
The jays are ridiculous and hilarious, as fledgling jays always are. I keep trying to get them to eat the food I offer them on their own, but instead they whiiine and whiiiine and whiiiiiiiiine at me as though it is very clear to them that my role in their life is to be their humble servant and stick the food directly in their mouths always. I'm sure I can get them to come around, though it may take me longer than the projected flight cage day of Tuesday. Jays are so hilarious. They're like the brilliant, loud class clowns of the bird world.
LULZ, I just spent $90 on a Pokémon plush lot. And I might spend $80 or so on another one tomorrow, depending on if I win. BUUUUT it had a lot of really super awesome things, and I'm about 99% sure I'll be able to resell what I don't want from it for a lot more than I paid for it. I know one of the plush in it is worth at least $50 by itself, and another I've never seen before and I think it's worth about the same. Plus there were sixteen other plush. I always feel bad spending money I shouldn't be spending, but does it really matter if I can make considerably more than what I spent? That is what's called an investment, my friends, even if I do feel guilty about it. Hint: This is a plea for reassurance that I am, in fact, at least slightly sane.
I honestly don't think I have anything else to say. I know the second I get in the shower, though, all sorts of interesting things I should bring up will come to me. Such is life.
