Cute things make me happy. :D
Apr. 1st, 2008 09:52 pmHahaha, seriously, it was incredible how much rickrolling there was today. It seemed like it occurred on a large number of communities and among several users on my f-list, in addition to other websites (ie, Youtube). For good measure, I rickrolled my dad (who didn't know what rickrolling was previously), who then proceeded to rickroll one of his friends. XD
Guess who I got in the mail today. :D DENSUKE PLUSH! ♥ ♥ ♥ I expected him to be small-ish, like around 7" long, but instead he's HUGE! I'd say he's exactly the size he is in the anime. He's probably the softest, cuddliest plush ever. I absolutely adore him! I was kind of nervous because I spent a lot of money on him and I thought he might be a bit disappointing in real life, but it was definitely, definitely worth it. He's a really nicely made plush.

I took pictures of him on top of my 17" widescreen and by a DVD-R to give a sense of scale, but he still looks smaller than he is. 8D Anyway, it was just one of those silly things that got me all excited. I've been carrying him around all day.
Speaking of Densuke, I started attempting to make the head on my costume today, but I only gave myself a half-hour and thus I made just about no progress. In fact, the progress I did make was no good, so I had to rip it apart. Oh well--I'll have more time over the weekend. Maybe I can have some friends help with it or something.
I miss the time when Dennou Coil was airing. It was so much fun trying to figure out the plot and understand the significant details and notice little things about the dialogue and the world the characters live in. Now all I can really do with the series is fan-related things and trying (usually in vain, sob) to get people to watch it. :( If you're reading this post and haven't seen it yet, I highly highly recommend it to everyone. Unless you ABSOLUTELY REQUIRE explosions and fanservice to keep you entertained, I think Dennou Coil has something to offer for everyone.
I also watched five episodes of Ghost Hound today, so now I'm up to episode nineteen. It's too bizarre of a series to get super-obsessed over, but it is a well-made, intriguing series and I absolutely adore the characters. I guess it ends in three episodes (though those three aren't subbed yet), and I'm extremely curious how they're going to wrap it up. Hopefully it'll have a good ending. The rest of the series is so vague at times that giving it one of those 'open' endings would be frustrating. But, ah, we'll see. :D
Also, I've been watching Chi's Sweet Home, which is, naturally, heart-meltingly adorable. *__* I was unsure about the format of the series (three minute clips), but now I kind of like it because it means I don't have to commit much time to it and I get a daily dosage of adorable in smaller amounts.
I have a big Calculus exam tomorrow and I have to be up at 6 AM, so I'd better get off now. :( I hope I do all right on the test. I can't decide whether I'm sort of confident about it or not confident at all. :/

He is! He's soooo adorable in real life. You haven't seen Dennou Coil, have you? If you haven't, you definitely should.

Date: 2008-04-02 05:29 am (UTC)It's...um. It's hard to summarize, but here's a one from ANN: Eleven years after the introduction of internet-connected, augmented reality eyeglasses and visors, Yūko Okonogi moves with her family to Daikoku City, the technological center of the emerging half-virtual world. Yūko joins her grandmother's "investigation agency" comprised of children equipped with virtual tools and powerful metatags. She quickly crosses paths with Yūko Amasawa, an expert hacker of the virtual environment, as Amasawa relentlessly seeks to "unlock" the mystery of a computer virus that emerges from an inaccessible corrupted space.
It starts out adorable and entertaining and light-hearted, and gets darker and deeper as the series goes on. It was the best series of 2007 in my opinion (though Gurren Lagann was very very close behind). I think you'd LOVE it, and I'd love to discuss it with you if you do watch it! ♥

Date: 2008-04-02 05:39 am (UTC)Yeah...that is creepy xD; There was a guy at the local community college who wore his Naruto headband every day... ~_~;

Date: 2008-04-02 06:25 am (UTC)Yeah, it definitely is. I mean, I try not to be judgmental because I'm pretty odd myself, but... There's just something about her and all her plushies that really throws on the strange alarms on in my head. O_o;
Haha, I used to wear a Naruto headband around my neck sometimes when I was in high school. But mind you, this was only for a month or two and it was ages before anyone outside of my friends and I knew what Naruto was. (And it's fun having references to obscure things on you! Just not...when you get associated with a bunch of crazies.) Nowadays I can't help but cringe at how many people wear them. And the sorts of people who wear them. D:

A variant on the duckroll. Allegedly hilarious."

I KNOW, HE'S SO SO ADORABLE. And he's even more adorable when you know the character, because he's so dorky and silly but he ends up being a really heroic and awesome character. ♥ I can't wait for you to see Dennou Coil! You're going to adore it. :D

Date: 2008-04-02 06:29 am (UTC)Haha, it was like...an epidemic of rickrolling. :O I'm happy that I have a high tolerance level for it and find it amusing, because if it annoyed me I imagine I would have had a very unpleasant day. XD

Date: 2008-04-02 06:51 am (UTC)Yeah I have a pretty high tolerance level for it too so I was merely mildly amused and not annoyed.
After reading your post I went to look for some Chi's Sweet Home eps on nico and watched them ahaha~ The episodes are like little balls of happiness squashed into 3 minute long packages, heeee. xD!
