Jan. 15th, 2008 10:20 pmMY ZOOLOGY TEACHER IS AWESOME, TOO
We got to watch Planet Earth for Zoology lab today. This semester is going to be amazing. :D Three classes, all with awesome teachers, none of which are Chemistry, and two are animal-related. Calculus is the only class that's not completely desirable, and I think I'll be able to survive that without much of a problem.
I have to get up at 6 AM again tomorrow, so I should be going to bed, but, being my geeky self, I have to vote in SaiGAR before I go to bed. What? I have to support Hei.
Hm, nothing more to say. That's all for now.

Date: 2008-01-16 09:14 am (UTC)But if you ask me personally I think most zoology/botany modules are much more fun than Chemistry any day ;)
On an unrelated tangent, the ministry of education here has been steadily replacing all physical biology with biotechnology/biochemistry in syllabuses - the school where I came from did it much earlier though, and as a result we hardly got any education on ecology, body systems, plant systems etc. At all. Instead we got polymerase chain reaction from the age of 14. x_x
Then again, I kinda like those too but it's really sad when they remove avenues for those interested in so-called "traditional biology".
I also severely regret not taking Geography after seeing awesome documentaries they rarely did show us in Bio lessons :(

Date: 2008-01-17 05:46 am (UTC)I agree! I love traditional biology, and especially zoology. Then again, I think Chemistry is my least favorite subject ever, despite growing incrementally more fond of it as a result of repetition and actually understanding it.
Oh, that's a shame! As vital as it can be to know all that biotechnology/biochemistry stuff, I think the larger-scale topics like plant and animal life and ecosystems is much more applicable and meaningful in everyday situations.
You should hunt down Planet Earth, if you ever get a chance! I'm sure you could find it online if you looked around. It's truly a stunning documentary series. Some of the footage is absolutely jaw-dropping. I highly recommend it.

Date: 2008-01-17 05:51 am (UTC)Ahaha, it is amazing that I have such great classes this semester, but don't be too jealous--most semesters I get to take a bunch of hardcore science courses. Being pre-vet is, unfortunately, not a stroll in the park. x_x;

Date: 2008-01-17 01:11 pm (UTC)Currently I have a maths teacher I don't quite like - I don't hate her per se, but I can't make out head or tail of what she's saying because she's from China and her accent is just so thick! And she's not good with words, and the rest of the class is mostly PRC kids so they understand her perfectly or ask her in Chinese. :( But this time I'm determined to pass maths so I will just work on my own.
BTW, I forgot to ask you the last time but did you finish watching Princess Tutu? What do you think of it?
