Okay, before a proper entry, hello to my new friends from the Pokémon friending meme! It'll be really nice to have more Pokémon fans around here, as there can never be enough Pokéfans on my friends-list.

Okay. Trying not to copy my profile word-for-word here. I'm Pacific Pikachu, my real first name is Kristin, I'm nineteen, and an Animal Science major hoping to become an avian vet. I live in a little touristy town in northern California about halfway between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento. My two main passions in life are anime/manga and animals, both of which play an approximately equal role in my life.

First off, the anime/manga. I have lots and lots and lots of anime/manga fandoms. More than...is normal, I think. These fandoms include but are not limited to: Pokémon, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Gankutsuou, Mushishi, 20th Century Boys (AKA the greatest manga ever written), Monster (AKA the second greatest manga ever written), Naruto, RahXephon, Last Exile, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Honey & Clover, Fullmetal Alchemist, Haibane Renmei, FLCL, Hikaru no Go, Paranoia Agent (and everything else by Satoshi Kon), Kino's Journey, Gunslinger Girl, Ouran High School Host Club, Loveless, everything by Miyazaki/Ghibli, Samurai Champloo, Saikano, Planetes, Eureka SeveN, Now and Then, Here and There, Beck, Death Note, Witch Hunter Robin, everything by Makoto Shinkai, Escaflowne, and I don't even know what else. A lot. I have too many fandoms.

Impossible as it may seem, I am obsessed to some degree with all of them. I cycle through "current obsessions" frequently, however, because freaking out over all these series at the same time would cause brain trauma of some sort. I also have a number of series that I enjoy a lot, but do not consider one of my fandoms. I tend to be borderline squealy fangirl, but that's only one facet of my personality and shouldn't be taken too seriously by anyone. I prefer philosophical/emotional/meaningful stories over bishounen any day (*GASP*), and I'm actually somewhat introverted with bursts of extroversion. I LOVE discussing anime/manga with anyone at any time.

Side obsessions within anime include: Yoko Kanno (composer), Maaya Sakamoto (singer/seiyuu), Mamoru Miyano (seiyuu), The Pillows (band), Spitz (band), and Suga Shikao (singer), among others. LOTS OF OTHERS.

I do fanart, fanfiction, cosplay, and lots and LOTS of anime conventions.

I have a couple of live-action fandoms (The Office (US), Mysterious Ways (a series that was cancelled years ago), and the lovely J-drama Densha Otoko) and a couple of book fandoms (The Last Unicorn and Watership Down), and several movies I near-worship (Fluke, Pan's Labyrinth, Crash, other things).

As for animals, I'm the sort of person who loves all animals. My current and probably lifetime focus is birds (ALL kinds of birds), but I actually love all animals just about equally and I love being in their company. I have lots of pets (dogs, cats, cockatiels, a parrotlet, guinea pigs, a horse, lots of chickens, ducks, pheasants, fish) that I love dearly and like talking about. During the summer, I do wildlife rehab, which takes up almost all of my time and focus, so be warned that during that time period, I talk about birds almost constantly. I'll take pictures, I promise. Baby birds are very very cute. I also absolutely adore chickens and I currently have eighteen of them in my room. No lie.

Gah, this is getting way too long. Anyway, I have a semi-phobia of babies and pregnant women (and am childfree), I am extremely liberal, I am not religious but I am spiritual in my own way, I write creepy/weird original stories occasionally, I draw a lot of animals, I complain about school a lot, there is actually more to me than my fandoms, and...let's just leave it at that, okay?

I'm sorry for boring you all. ♥ Feel free to write long, rambling biographies of yourselves, too, in the comments or elsewhere and I promise I'll read them.

In other news, it's Shark Week! That means that the TV will be on frequently in our household because sharks = awesome.

Today I got my birds back, minus a few and plus one. The two older scrub jays and the stellar's jay went to the flight cage today, so I'm very happy for them. They've been ready to go for a long time, but I was waiting for the youngest scrub jay to catch up. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the youngest scrub jay is going to make it. He seems to have something wrong with his nervous system/balance ever since the raccoon incident, and I'm very baffled as to what is causing it. Tracey is keeping the little guy for homeopathy, which has already saved his life once, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But...in all honesty, I don't know if he'll make it. :( This has been such a tough season, I can't believe it. It wears down on you a little after a while.

Thankfully, the quail are doing well, and the crow has been to the vet and was given a clean bill of health. Dr. Lund weighed him and said his weight is fine, despite him feeling skinny, and the ratty tail feathers are probably a result of malnutrition and stress before I got him. So, good for him. I love the crow. XD

I also picked up a little house sparrow to pass on to one of the ladies I'm teaching within the next week or so. He's so adorable!

Paranoia Agent? Oooh, that anime needs more love~ it's so delightfully creepy ♥

Anyways, my name's Shannon, and I'm very obsessive about my fandoms too ♥! My very favorite animes are Death Note and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Death Note is my favorite manga, too. I'm fourteen, so I guess you could say I'm a bit naive and immature, but.. I try. XD; I also type in capslock and keyboard smash a lot.

Haha, so that's my little mini-biography~

Nice to meet you!

Yes, it is, isn't it? I adore Satoshi Kon--he's an amazing storyteller.

I'm a big Haruhi fan, and I like Death Note, too. :D It's no problem that you're younger than I am! You type very maturely for your age, and I hope you won't be offended when I poke fun at 13-year-old fangirls. XD When I do that, I'm just referring to people who type lYke D1s and start pointless pairing wars and such.

I also type in capslock a fair amount, though I generally reserve it for "conversations" (if you can call them that) with people who also like to capslock and such. Sometimes I make capslock entries in my LJ, too, though, usually when I'm excited or fangirling something. X3

Thank you! I won't be offended at all-- uggh, most thirteen year olds type atrociously. I can barely get through an AIM conversation with any of my friends from school.

Yeah, I usually capslock when I'm excited/fangirling. XD And there are some people I almost never talk to in lowercase, haha~

I really, really, really don't like babies. I think they're scary and nasty. o_o

*High fives*

Shall we start the baby launcher, then?

Exactly! It drives me crazy when people type as if they're doing it with their nose or elbow or something, and then I'm forced to wonder what terrible fate befell them and made it so they can't type properly with their fingers. XD

Same here! Haha, I have a few people I always capslock with, too. [livejournal.com profile] prisoner_of_iba is one of them. Except, we...er, capslock and make our font , so it ends up being rather dysfunctional and funny.

I know! XD How hard is it to spell out three-letter words correctly, people? Why do you have to use 'u' and 'r'? Haha, I once got made fun of for typing properly. It was more amusing than anything.
