I never did catch my Tanabata/777 shiny Absol. ;_; I chained forty of them and reset for about two hours, and I still didn't get one (and this was after about four chains of thirty or more and a bunch of smaller chains). After the forty chain was broken by a misstep, I continued chaining Absol until past midnight, but still no success.

While I was playing, I noticed my tongue and throat were really hurting. Long story short, I had an allergic reaction (this time a real allergic reaction, not GERD) that caused my tongue, throat, and lips to swell up, and although it wasn't too bad, Mom made me go to the ER anyway. Before we left for the hospital, she gave me some Benadryl, which mostly took care of the problem by the time we got to the ER. But, of course, I still had to be admitted, and therefore we didn't leave the hospital until 3:30 AM. At noon or so the next day I woke up and my tongue and throat were swollen again, so I went back to the ER. This time we just sat outside until I felt better, but still.

I am getting SO TIRED of these stupid health problems. I've been fine since about 2 PM yesterday, so I'm thinking I possibly reacted to the new pillows I got the other day. I removed those from my room and I've been okay since. I'm still on Benadryl constantly, though.

Now for some bird stuff! I got in a little injured scrub jay the other day, but it died the night I got it. It probably had internal damage because of a fall, and I wasn't expecting it to survive. It did nothing but sleep and I had to force feed it. I have two other scrub jays--one older fledgling and one younger fledgling. The older fledgling escaped outside yesterday when I was trying to feed him and flew high into the nearby trees. He remained in the wild for at least three hours. I had nearly given him up as a lost cause when he flew down to a low tree by the deck and I was able to capture him and put him back in the cage.

That skinny baby crow I got in before Anime Expo is thriving. :D

I also have two quail now--the one I've had for quite a while is getting really BIG and I also have a little quarter-sized one. They're in with a young chick and are doing well.

I named some of the chickens I got in April yesterday. I need to take pictures sometime soon--they're really gorgeous. ♥ My two Silver Sebright hens are named Solitaire and Domino, my Golden Sebright hen is Carmel, one of the Silver Duckwing Old English is Chise, and one of the BB Red Old English is Aka. Also, the blue cochin's name is officially Cochin Bobochin. XD I still have two Mille Fleur d'Uccle, one Silver Duckwing Old English, and one BB Red Old English to name, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know. :D

That's about it, I think... I've been reading [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets a lot lately, and chaining Vulpix. I'm still determined to get a shiny Vulpix. :D

What exactly is this Pokemon-chaining thing?

You get a thing called the PokéRadar later in the game in Diamond and Pearl, and you can use it to catch or defeat as many of the same species of Pokémon as possible in succession. The higher the number you chain, the better chance you have of getting a shiny. And I like shinies a bit too much, hence why I founded [livejournal.com profile] shinypoke. XD

I am curious as to how a pokemon is shiny. Why are they shiny? What is so great about the shiny pokemon?

As for birdnames: Duck, Chick, Darkwing, Mallard, Fawkes, Hermes, Boochicky, Bird, Kotori <-for a small bird, Iago, Ren, Starscream, Ootori, Beaky, Swiftwing, Angle Pie, Ewan, Pidgey....how are those for some names? Oh wait you got some French birds soooo, Remi, Louise, Anton, Marie, Francois...there. XD

Shiny Pokémon are simply Pokémon with different colors than they would normally be, and when they're let out into battle, there's a little sparkle animation. That's about it. XD I just like them because they're pretty and rare. There's a 1/8192 chance of encountering one in the wild.

Ooo, thanks for all the names! I'll think about them. :D Oddly enough, I already have a chicken named Fawkes, and I used to have one named Pidgey a long time ago.

:( I hope you get better soon. I wonder what that pillow was made out of since it gave you a terrible allergic reaction. I've been getting a lot of allergic reactions lately... I wonder why.

Shesss 2 hours of reseting to get a Tanabata/777 shiny Absol. That must be intensely insane.

I can't wait to see photos of your birds. ^-^

Aw that sounds so awful! I really hope you start to feel better! ♥ Are you sure you're not getting sick from... the birds? D:

Nah, we've ruled birds out, seeing as whether or not I have birds in my room doesn't make a difference. Also, the allergy testing for bird dander came back negative, so thankfully the birds aren't related to my weird medical problems.

I really do think it was the pillows. I can't think of anything else unusual that I ate/did that day, and now that they're out of my room, the symptoms are gone. Of course, I'm still on Benadryl, but I'm hoping that's all it was.

Thanks for your concern!
