Well, I would write a full entry about Christmas, but there's not a lot to say about it. XD; We mostly listened to Yoko Kanno and such on the way down to Marin, and Ryan and I spent the whole time pointing out birds of prey to each other. There were TONS of hawks out--I mean, we saw like fifty or sixty during the drive, if not more, and we saw about fifteen or twenty kestrels, too. Only four or five kites this time, though one was hovering really close to the car so we got a great view of it. When we were almost to Marin, we saw a HUGE red-tailed hawk swoop down and catch something pretty close to the car, so that was exciting.

Christmas went pretty normally there. The only things worth noting that occurred (other than presents, of course), were that I spent a lot of my time hiding from my new cousin (baby, y'know, and creepy as all hell like all babies are) and that Chris, Jordan, Ryan, and I had a blast prank-calling random people and playing awful, out-of-tune piano into their answering machines. I ate a lot at dinner, and then had pie. Yum, pie. We left kind of early, and I loved the ride back. We listened to Honey & Clover music loudly almost the whole way.

My haul was pretty awesome this year, on account of the fact that I forgot to send out lists of what I want to my relatives. I mostly got gift cards and money, which is what I wanted anyway, and I've already spent a lot of it. XD;; I got $575 in cash (or somewhere around there), $130 for Best Buy, $50 for Target, $25 for Barnes & Noble, and $25 for Borders, in addition to all the random little trinkets and things I also obtained from various relatives and my Mom (I'm not going to list them--I can't even remember them right now). Also, Mom's going to pay for my pre-reg for Anime Expo and reserve hotel rooms, so that's an additional gift. We're also getting a family gift of a camcorder, and Hana kind of counts as a present, too.

Today I spent large amounts of time ordering things with gift cards and money. I'm rather impressed with what I've bought so far, as it's almost all Yoko Kanno CDs, and I still have quite a bit of money on gift cards left for a shopping spree down in Roseville, and I'm saving about $200 or so for cosplay/cons. Here's what I ordered today (more for my records than for bragging XD;;):

From CDJapan:

* Turn A Gundam OST 1
* Turn A Gundam OST 2 (it actually might be 3--I'm not sure. Doesn't matter)
* Turn A Gundam Movie OST
* Macross Plus OST "For Fans Only"
* Song to Fly (Yoko Kanno's original CD)
* Brain Powered OST 1
* The Other Side of Midnight OST (Maaya Sakamoto and Yoko Kanno)
* Ashura-jo no Hitomi OST
* Escaflowne -Lovers Only- OST
* Sousei no Aquarion OST 1
* Sousei no Aquarion OST 2
* Gankutsuou Classical Compilation
* Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsumeawase Single
* Spitz- MIKAZUKI ROCK

It's funny to note that for most of those Yoko Kanno CDs, I've never even seen most of the series the soundtracks are from. It doesn't matter--it's Yoko Kanno. All these CDs are definitely helping towards my "collect all Yoko Kanno anime soundtracks" goal.

From Target:

* Turn A Gundam in Concert (This excites me so much you have no idea. Yoko Kanno live is always a good thing, and this is supposedly a limited edition/hard-to-find CD, so I'm thrilled I found it. I'm not into Gundam, so I'll probably never see the show, but Yoko Kanno is so awesome!)
* Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. FINALLY.

From Best Buy:

* Macross Plus OST 2 (Released here, so it was uber-cheap. Like...$12. Score!)

I'm looking forward to going to Roseville. XD;; I'm kind of a big spender when it comes to anime, in case anyone in the entire world hasn't noticed.

Today was nifty. I watched Paranoia Agent up to episode 11, so now I need to get the last DVD. Paranoia Agent is such WTFery, SRSLY. It's awesome WTFery, though--I'm amazed at the versatility of Satoshi Kon's directing. I mean, I've known since Millennium Actress that he's downright amazing, but I never thought he could direct such a large range of bizarre-ness. Happy Family Planning was so funny and strange and...GUH, and every single episode almost has its own style and method of storytelling. It's fascinating.

Also, the wind was blowing SO HARD today. I loved it. ♥ There were pine needles flying everywhere, and at some points the house was literally shaking because the wind was being so insane out there. There were smatterings of rain every now and then, but it was mostly just booming, crazy wind.

Uh, that's my day. I'm very satisfied. Thirteen Yoko Kanno CDs in one day? YES. WIN.

We listened to Honey & Clover music loudly almost the whole way.

Love. I'd really like to do that. ;_; Even if H&C music makes me want to cry.

OMG SPITZ CD. So cool. I've been told about Paranoia Agent, I'll need to try that.

I ADORE Honey & Clover music (it makes me so nostalgic!), and especially Spitz, so I figured I needed to get at least a CD or two of theirs. I'll probably order more of their CDs next time, as I'm focusing on Yoko Kanno CDs for now. I literally worship Yoko Kanno, so...yeah. XD;

Ohhh, Paranoia Agent is awesome! You should definitely check it out. Have you seen any of Satoshi Kon's movies (Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue, etc.)? 'Cause if you haven't, the man is a GENIUS. I particularly recommend Millennium Actress. Absolutely beautiful movie.

Wow, you did have quite a "haul." O_O Yeah, and I know what you mean about babies on Christmas. Haha, I haven't prank-called in so long, but I'd love to do it again with friends. XD

Oh, and when you get a chance to listen to any of those CDs I sent (whenever, it doesn't matter), please let me know what you think! I just want to hear your crit and reviews. XD

Yeah, I can't wait to get all the Yoko Kanno CDs! When they arrive, I'll definitely have to burn you my favorites! I forgot--did I ever send you the Arjuna OSTs? Because if I didn't, I definitely should. XD;

Oh! I listened to three of them and liked them very, very much~! Madlax and the first two Xenosaga disks, I think. They were lovely! I can't really say too much, though, because I had them on in the background while I was doing something-or-other and I therefore can't remember exact details. But yeah, they're wonderful! Ryan came in during the Madlax OST and said he liked it, too. XD;;
