Just finished Mushishi
Dec. 2nd, 2006 11:09 pmGAH. Awesome, AWESOME show. Technically, and storytelling-wise, probably one of the better series I've ever seen. Like...up there in the top ten (which might have evolved into something like the top fifteen, because I have a lot of OMFGAWESOME shows I've seen now and I can't choose between them because they're all so different and so awesome). You know? It might have even made it into the top five. I can't decide.
Anyhow, everyone should watch it now. It's kind of like what would happen if you mixed together...uh, Kino's Journey and a Miyazaki movie. But I'd say it's a little darker than Kino and Miyazaki put together. It's a very emotional, intriguing, baffling, gorgeous show. Every single episode gave me shivers. EVERY ONE of them. It's completely worth every minute you spend on it. It's a bunch of one-shots, so it's easy to watch all the episodes spread-out, for those of you who don't have much time to be marathoning series.
But, yeah. Seriously, AMAZING show. I can't recommend it enough.
Today, I finished up my fanfic for
naruto_wishlist, which...uh, I'm not going to discuss it in-depth. Let's just say the ending surprised me, the 'fic itself was rather the opposite of holiday cheer, and I don't think I liked it. ;_;
I also had a wonderful time beginning to pack. Dad brought home a bunch of boxes and I ended up packing a fair amount. Considering, y'know, the fact that I have way too much stuff in my room. I did manage to dig my way through the whole closet-full of bird stuff, and I'm proud of myself for that alone. Because that's a hell of a lot of bird stuff.
Then I got into a discussion with
_tehriah on Law & Order SVU Christmas parties (XD;;) and with
maryblue on 20th Century Boys and how it really is the best manga ever written. Nicole gave me a call, we talked for like an hour about politics and anime and AX and other stuff I can't remember. :D
Then I watched Mushishi. I'm pretty sure that's my whole day.

Date: 2006-12-03 07:42 pm (UTC)SAME HERE! It's really really fun to discuss those series. I've only gotten to discuss them with a few people (one of them being my IRL friend who introduced them to me in the first place, but she just moved for college), and mostly everyone else I've talked to only have only seen or read the beginnings of them.
I'm so happy to have a Naoki Urasawa discussion buddy!
