I've been distracted the last few days from LiveJournal by AMVs and Nicole. XD;; Nicole and I went to the Roseville yesterday with Mom and Ryan and had a fun time. We started out at Best Buy, where we spent a while lurking in the anime section and discussing what we need to buy, what we've heard about certain series, etc. Once we determined we didn't need anything in Best Buy, we headed off to Barnes & Noble, which was...interesting. And funny.

Nicole and I spent a long time in the manga section (as expected). We determined from about fifteen pages that Antique Bakery is amusing and fun, so I might get that at some point, and each bought Death Note Vol. 8.

As we were talking enthusiastically about manga and making fun of stupid manga and such, a guy came into the manga aisle and started acting rather oddly. He looked at us weirdly and kept saying, "Wow, there are other people in anime? I mean manga? There are other people into manga?" Initially Nicole and I just kind of looked at each other and said "Um, yeah. Of course there are other people into manga!" But then as we continued about our business, he kept chuckling to himself repeatedly and going "Wow, there are other people into manga..." like this was some great revelation he'd just made. I don't know if he was just weird or completely sheltered or what, but it was bizarre. He even followed Nicole and I to watch [unintentionally] hilarious renditions of songs and dances performed by high schoolers in the Kids section. Ahahaha, it was brilliant!

We went to the Galleria after that and got food. Nicole and I kept ending up looking at amusing and cute calendars, and did a lot of random wandering in general. At the end of the trip, we sat in the massage chairs for about forty minutes in Brookstone and talked about cosplay. Nicole might try to do Nausicaa to compliment my Teto costume, which would be awesome. :D

On the way back, we got in a great debate about whether Raito is believable character, and then discussed morality in general. When we arrived back at my house, we were up until almost 2 AM finishing Ouran again, and then we were up until 4 AM mentally constructing a heartbreaking, sentimental, and meaningful shoujo anime out of our experiences the past three or four years. We planned it down to a ton of little details, and constructed it in such a way that it really would make a realistic and very moving anime. XD; It's kind of funny--because we really did have a hard time emotionally with a LOT of things over the past few years, but when we put it into an anime context--all the sudden it was this beautiful thing that neither of us could ever regret. The one thing we couldn't figure out was what we would name it (we discussed basically everything else--from scene direction, to perspectives, various scenes, series construction, music, animation, transitions between different perspectives, ways to make everything come together at the end, etc.). In all silliness, at 4 AM the best title we could come up with was Slam!. Which is so many levels of stupid I can't even begin to describe it.

I got about six hours of sleep, which isn't that bad, but it does make me a little drowsy.

At noon, after Nicole and I watched a bunch of AMVs, Mom drove Nicole to her work and we got donuts and went to KMart, Big Five, and SPD--and then we picked up our new couch! It's so nice and soft and fluffy and pretty. ♥

That's all for now. Now I must begin the challenge of keeping myself awake until tonight.
