Somewhat large update time?
Apr. 21st, 2006 06:35 pmWell, yeah. Internet at Mom's died randomly while Zoe was over at my house, so that's why I didn't get to write much at all the last two days. Let's see... I'd rather like to recount them, though I'm sure I'm going to leave out stuff. They were relatively nice days, so I figure they deserve a place in my memory (not to be confused with the LiveJournal Memories function). XD;
Tuesday and Wednesday were lots of fun. Tuesday night, Zoe came over to spend the night, and we had a blast. I don't remember much of Tuesday during school, so I'm just going to skip it. ._.; Zoe and I spent much of our time reading this beautiful Raito/L mpreg troll and laughing hysterically. After that, we looked through cosplayers, random pictures I have saved, watched some funny flash videos, and got food. From there, we eventually transitioned into our Densha Otoko-athon.
This was...too great for words, as has previously been expressed on my entry after we finished it. It took a little while to get back into the Densha Otoko mindset, but once we did, it was just as insane as usual. We laughed so hard I can't describe it. We "Awww"ed. We yelled at the screen. We expressed anger at characters. We almost died of suspense. We regained our faith in humanity. No one can describe the happiness contained in that show. It even has--wait for this--Dragostea Din Tei. :O And like...a million other things that make it priceless. You just have to see it. Trust me.
We finished it at about 12:40 AM (about six hours of watching, I think) and spent quite a while chattering excitedly over it. We started downloading Another Ending and the OST, along with some TV specials pertaining to it, but those downloads took all night and then some. (Another Ending and the OST never did get to finish downloading because of the internet randomly dying.)
We slept in 'til about 9 AM, and then got up (rather reluctantly, on my part--I wanted more sleep) and took showers. It was our Senior Ditch Day on Wednesday, you see, so we got to sleep in. I don't remember what we did after showers. I think we wandered around the house randomly and ate breakfast. Oh, and we watched Trivia Seed--a special relating to Densha Otoko (how many otaku would save a woman from a drunk man, anyway?). That was funny and enlightening.
Even though school didn't start until 12:50 PM, we had to leave with Mom at about 11:30 AM because Mom had a meeting at the hospital. As a result, Mom gave us money and dropped us off at a sandwich place so we could get some lunch and then walk to school. The sandwiches were yummy, and we talked about Gendou and other weird stuff as we were eating. Speaking of Gendou, as we were discussing Gendou, and what if Gendou were real and Shinji was real and so on and so forth, Jeremy walked into the sandwich shop. This was funny because we nicknamed him--haha--Shinji quite a while ago.
We spent a while looking for a garbage can to throw my cup away in (Zoe found one in the bicycle store) and then took off for school. We spent most of the walk to school talking about how lame our Anime Club is and how cool it would be to have a nice, devoted, motivated group of people in our club. It was nice to think about, even if it'll never happen. It was a really nice walk, though--I enjoyed it. The weather was almost perfect, if a little hot, and it had that summery smell that always reminds me of childhood and times past. As a result, I was feeling extremely nostalgic for much of the day.
We arrived at school right on time and went to Art. Mr. Baxter wanted us to sit outside but Zoe and I were both hot, so we (+ Tony and Steven) sat in the shade right outside the art room. I didn't work...yet again...as Steven and I got in a conversation about various anime. It was only twenty-five minute periods, so the three classes we had to attend went by fast. (Well, only two for me plus hanging around the library, but you get the idea.)
Anime Club was...pretty much "Ughhh." We were going to show Hellsing due to popular demand, but then it turned out Zoe and I needed permission slips, too, so we couldn't show it. It seems utterly ridiculous we need permission slips to see it--we're both eighteen and have seen the series all the way through. >.> We had previously assumed we could get away with not having them. Anyway, we showed AMVs instead... No one was particularly thrilled about them, but they weren't unhappy either. I think our supervisor felt bad that we couldn't watch Hellsing, so she bought us ice cream. :D
Zoe and I talked about random stuff after Anime Club until Mom picked me up.
I forget what happened that evening. I don't think it really matters anyway. >.> Probably just pet chores and trying to fix the modem.
Yesterday was also awesome, weirdly enough.
Um...nothing happened in my TA period. Same goes for Government... We ran another mile in PE. Lunch was relatively uneventful, I think.
Art was hilarious. XD; Zoe took a paintbrush and some watercolors and did some illustrations of Freek-a-Leek. Hahaha! We were laughing so hard. The first one was Orochimaru in a magenta suit, and the second was a "romantic" picture of Orochimaru and Kiki Johnson with a bunch of memorable quotes from the godawful fanfic around them. I hope Zoe posts it on
ff_anbu...it was truly beautiful. For some reason, "Miss Mizuki" was particularly amusing to us yesterday...we kept going into laughing fits over him/her/it?.
The rest of the school day, not much happened. I played Gameboy 7th period... I'm on Victory Road in Emerald, after a long hiatus of not playing. I forget how fun those games are occasionally and then get all excited when I remember again. XD;
After school, we picked up Ryan and Mom's friend Alexia and went to Roseville. I deemed that this would not be a fun trip for a few reasons: 1) I didn't get the front seat and therefore couldn't control my music, 2) Alexia is pregnant and pregnancy makes me squirm, 3) we didn't get to go the places I wanted to go. However, it turned out being a lot of fun, surprisingly.
On the way there, we stopped at an awesome feed store in Auburn. I got to play with the CYUTEST ♥ little chickies (mostly tiny little Silkies) and Ryan and I chased some wild chickens around. It turned out, though, that the wild chickens are my two favorite breeds in the whole world (Golden and Silver Phoenixes), so then I got all excited and Mom said we can come back and catch some of the hens to keep once we get our coop up and running. ^_^ I was in rather high spirits after that. It's remarkable how much a little bit of sunshine and outdoors and chickens can cheer me up by volumes. ^^
Once we arrived in Roseville, we went to the Party Store. I tried on various random costumes and danced in the aisles (much to my brother's embarrassment and amusement), and made lots of weird purchases. Namely, I bought one of these plush chickies that peep when you put them on your hand and TONS of 50% off Easter candy (which was quickly consumed, further fueling my happiness).
I went into the Cost Plus store while Mom and company were in Ross and smelled candles for a while, but that only lasted a limited amount of time because there was a baby about in that store and it scared me enough I had to leave. >.> So I went to Ross and waited around for Mom, Ryan, and Alexia. Meanwhile, I found these HUGE awesome headphones for $8, so Mom bought those for me. :D We also bought this really yummy candy that was like...fancy chocolate-coated fruit snacks and ate lots of those. I swear, I ate more candy yesterday alone than I think I've eaten in the past year put together. >.>
We went to dinner at the Galleria after that. I guess I was really hungry or something, because I had a Strawberry Julius, stamed rice, egg rolls, and french bread. Mmm, it was good.
We looked at really cool Vespas in the mall for a while (Mom's considering buying me one instead of a car, though it's a big "maybe"), and then went to Brookstone and spent at least a half hour in the very invigorating massage chairs. 'Twas so fun. :D We were going to go by Barnes and Noble after that, but it was too late, so we just went home.
On the way back, Alexia talked about her musical background (she used to be a really famous pianist and wrote rock operas and all this other crazy stuff) and I got to gush about Yoko Kanno, so it was fun. Once we dropped Alexia off, we listened to Genesis of Aquarion several times, and Ryan and I decided we're going to do a group karaoke of it at Fanime. So, I have to find and print the lyrics for everyone who's coming and make at least ten or so copies of the Sousei no Aquarion OST 2. I was really, really excited about this, and downright happy in general.
I took a shower when we got home, played Gameboy for a little while, and eventually went to bed. Took me a while, though, as I was extremely motivated and happy for some reason.
I was tired when I woke up today, though I slept well.
In first period, I tested out my new headphones and discovered they cancel outside sounds out pretty well. I listened to Wolf's Rain OST 1 on less than half volume and I could still hear it perfectly over Ben's obnxious rap (which was LOUD) in the background. I fell asleep while listening to it and pretty much slept all period. ^^;
We discussed stuff second period. Mostly assisted suicide, which was interesting.
I had a sub for PE, which was a joyous occasion. I barely ran at all, and for the first half of the period I did nothing but watch the swallows (who flock in the hundreds around our gym) in great detail. The second half, I found this nice Freshman girl who is a rather inexperienced but very well-meaning otaku and talked to her all period. :)
Lunch...Zoe and I talked about stuff. Don't remember what.
Art...listened to music, talked a little, did nothing.
English was glorious simply because there was chai tea involved and because the Great Expectations test was really easy. :)
Kathryn and I mainly talked about writing in the art room during seventh period. Not too eventful, but nice nonetheless.
Nicole and I talked a little after school... That caused me a brief bout of depression, as she doesn't seem to have forgiven me all that much. *Sigh* I really want to prove to her that I'm still a good friend and that I never intended to hurt her in thr first place, but we haven't gotten a chance to talk things over yet. I've missed her a lot, and I think I need my friends more than ever now.
I was lethagic in the car on the way home, and as a result I took a short nap when I got to Mom's. Dad picked Ryan and I up not too long after I went to bed, though. So, um, yeah. That's pretty much what's going on. The sudden nice weather has been helpful in improving my mood, and...to be honest, I think I'm sweeping all my issues under the figurative rug. This is both a good and a bad thing. It's a good thing because it means I'm happier than I've been in a long time and I'm very optimistic at this point, but it's bad because I'm not dealing with what needs to be dealt with. Oh well.
I have my friends-list to catch up on now, so bye~!
I really need to start my AMV darn soon or I'm going to be in big trouble. :O
