Jul. 9th, 2005 06:28 pmEr. Recap.
Yesterday when I got to Mom's, I thought I heard unfamiliar meowing and CC was acting kind of weird. After about a half hour, Mom located a medium-haired gray tabby cat on our property. It seemed a little skinny, so, being the animal nut I am, I randomly scooped it up and brought it in the house. We fed it, dusted it with some flea powder, and put it back outside when we had to leave. I haven't seen it since, but I think it's probably still around. It seems like it's about a year old, and it's really sweet. I wonder who it belongs to?
So, after that we went to the Friday Night Market in downtown Grass Valley. Once we arrived, I quickly located Makayla, Kathryn, Ciera, and Chris, and the typical mischief ensued. We got out of the way of the crowds and were acting weird as usual--dancing and leaping and pretending to perform ninjutsu. XD People probably thought we were on drugs or something.
That's basically all that happened there, other than me getting a coconut creme ice thing. Yummm. My favorite. ^^ The market was supposed to last until 9 PM, but it ended up lasting until about 9:45 PM instead. We had previously wanted to go to Wonderful Three for dinner (they're a really good Chinese restaurant in Grass Valley), but by the time we left it was much too late for that. So, we went to Lyon's instead. This was extremely uneventful and I wasn't really that hungry, so I couldn't even eat all of the quesadilla I ordered. *Yawn* Mom was commenting on my uncanny knack to associate anything in the entire world with anime. ^^;;
I was up late reading Frankenstein, which I'm almost done with. It's funny, because I probably could've read it all in one day, but instead I've been reading it in thirty-page chunks. XD I enjoy it, but I fail to see what's so scary about it... Oh well. It's a good book.
Today, Tanner came over (augh... ><) and Mom dragged us to this random air show up at the little airport on Banner Mountain. It actually was pretty fun, and I got to consume another coconut creme ice thing, so I was happy. Also, right after I bought that, I ran into Kathryn, Ciera, and Jared, so there was a major deja-vu moment. Mom and I kept scoping out the airplanes and deciding which ones we wanted to buy. XD Not that we could ever buy an airplane, but it was funny to talk about... I also decided randomly that I wanted this weird orange snowplow-esque thing that was weird/cool-looking. I think it would be funny to buy it and move to Arizona or Florida or something, just to see the weird looks I'd get if I drove it around.
I went to Staples and bought some more packing tape and permanent pens. I was going to get some more DVD-Rs so I could burn more than the 30 episodes I already burned for Hitchi (bulk shipment X3), but they were all really expensive, so it'll have to wait. That's okay--thirty episodes should last you a little while. :3
On the way back home, we saw a fox! :O It was really cool because we saw him well and it was broad daylight. It was so cute! ♥ It was about the size of a cat.
Rivi (and the burro, to a lesser extent) managed to get himself all cut up while we were gone. :( He has a big old gash in his fetlock that looks like it'll take quite a while to heal. Chester is a little scraped up, but not as bad. That's what I spent the last half-hour or so doing--bandaging Rivi and going in the pasture to make sure Chester's okay.
That's all. I have to be going because Mom wants me to unload groceries, and I want to do things relating to Hitchi's package. :3

Date: 2005-07-10 03:08 am (UTC)Aww, foxes! You're lucky! I haven't seen a fox in so long... :_:
Thanks! ^^; It makes me happy that you're thinking about me. ^_^ I know that sounds a little weird, but, I don't know how else to word it.

Date: 2005-07-10 03:16 am (UTC)The foxes are so cute. :D We seem to have tons of them around...
You're welcome! I like sending you stuff--it gives me something to do. And of course I think about you! I'm probably going to write your letter soon (seeing as I have everything else for your package done). I was going to watch Samurai Champloo, but I got kicked off of the TV. *Pout pout* ;_;

Date: 2005-07-10 04:16 am (UTC)The SC episode is quite amusing, by the way. XD I hope they don't cut any of the plot, as it does have drug references...

Date: 2005-07-10 04:55 am (UTC)However, I did talk to the guy who is "localizing" Naruto for Toonami (at AX), and my faith has been [somewhat] renewed. He's the same guy who did the "localizing" for Cowboy Bebop and FLCL, so now I'm thinking it's in capable hands. He's trying to cut as little as humanly possible while still making it past the censors.
...We'll see. I'm thinking that if the dub isn't too unbearable, I'll probably watch it to throw temper tantrums over every little thing they cut/say wrong. XD Not angry temper tantrums so much--just temper tantrums.
I've been watching so much of the sub I might have heart attacks at the dub, though. (Even though I've heard the cast really is very good.)
*Sigh* I'm afraid of the influx of fans, too. I mean, I'm a new fan, too, so I don't have that much right to talk, but does Naruto really need MORE fans? Ugh. x.x More *intelligent* fans are always welcome (always ^^), but Toonami doesn't exactly bring in the "intelligent" crowd in droves, y'know?

Date: 2005-07-10 07:28 pm (UTC)Aww, but the forehead protectors are fun! At least, they're fun to wear around town and to school--just don't wear them to conventions. Wearing a headband to a convention is just about the most clichéd thing ever.
The dubbies will be scary. x.x
