Yes, for those poor souls who don't know, it is, indeed, Ryuichi Sakuma's birthday today. I intend on getting him Tatsuha, appropriately gift-wrapped and covered in whipped cream. Of course, I haven't yet captured Tatsuha, but I guess it'll just have to be a little belated. ^^;;

It also signals the end of my San Diego trip, which was great fun (though not anime convention-proportions of fun).

I just spent six days without anime. >< PAAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNNNNN. And quite possibly a new record of most-time-without-watching-anime.

Uhhh...what to say? I'm pretty tired, to be honest. -_- Let's see...brief timeline of what happened on the trip.

Sunday (AKA Easter)

- Left the house (on time for once! :O )
- Listened to much Ayumi Hamasaki/Maaya Sakamoto/random Wolf's Rain in the car
- Visited Rivi at the stables he's staying at. Saw CUTE colts who followed Ryan and I along the fence and were running around. ^^ And a little bitty mini horse with a little bitty mini blanket on her. Awww.
- Went to my Grandma's, took a shuttle to the airport, and...that went very smoothly and fast. Though I had a headache on the plane... -_- Probably too many altitude changes.
- My aunt drove us to the hotel from the airport. It was a beautiful drive.

...You know what? This is boring, and it's taking too long. I'll just talk about the highlights instead.

We went to the wild animal park, which was nifty and huuuge. :D I love animals! ^_^ We got to stand about two feet away (behind glass, of course) from three one-year-old lions, feed the lorikeets twice, go on a train tour, watch an elephant show, and lots more. I wanted to see every animal there, but alas we were with lots of small children and thus I didn't get the time to split from the group and find all the animals. I was a little sad that there weren't any wolves there... I really like okapis. *_* I've seen them before, but always just in pictures. They're so magnificent.

Mom and I found some tide pools and I was poking at crabs, hermit crabs, and everything else I could find. After that we went to the aquarium.

At the aquarium, we were waiting outside to get in, and a lady made the mistake of leaving her hotdog on the table. A seagull took the whole huge hotdog and wolfed it down in front of her. XD It was hilarious. Even the lady whose hotdog was stolen couldn't help but be terribly amused.

In the aquarium, we...well, looked at cool fish. I love aquariums. There were baby seahorses, which were cute/weird, and sharks and such. Gomen... I'm trying to cut this all short because I want to go to sleep.

Mom and I went whalewatching (and we made the boat literally about three seconds before it left), but Mom ended up getting terribly seasick and we didn't see any whales. This was somewhat made up for by seeing tons and tons of dolphins, many of which went under the boat and were swimming directly in front of us. *_* I took some pictures on a disposable camera.

I kept thinking I was supposed to be at a convention while we were on the trip. And I missed my friends (who are usually my traveling buddies) and anime. But it was a very fun trip nonetheless--the weather was beautiful (especially the sunsets on the beach), and I did a lot of reading. I also played a lot of card games with my grandma and cousins (which was fun).

An interesting note--528s were everywhere in the trip. I swear, that number follows me around. ^^;

At some point, I had a bizarre dream involving hundreds of mountain lions and people trying to kill my dogs. I might go into the details of that some time (provided I can remember any details). It was a weird, frightening dream.

I was looking through the phonebook in the hotel room for anime shops, and I saw the number for Comicon and got all excited. Not that I even go to Comicon, but it was still exciting. Mom said I should call the number, but there wasn't any reason to and what would I say? o_O "Hi...I'm just lonely for an anime convention, so I called your number. Will you discuss anime with me pleeeease?!"

The flight home went fairly smoothly, too, except I had a little headache again. We eventually made it home, and now I'm at Dad's typing this. Cody came over for a while, and we watched Wolf's Rain 23-26 together before he had to leave.

Um...It's much harder to write about a normal vacation than it is an anime convention. So much happened, yet none of it seemed to be of a great deal of consequence, and most of it was just interactions with my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma, which you can't really write about (especially not when you're tired like I am).

I bought the last two volumes of Last Exile--and they were the limited editions, too! *Dances* I haven't watched them yet, though. I have about nine hours of anime I need to watch that I now own, and that's not including Naruto.

Overall...fun trip! Now I want to sleeeep... Maybe I'll elaborate on the vacation later, and maybe not. I think there were some funny stories to tell...

Zzzz.... Happy birthday again, Ryu-chan...

Wow, I am so glad I am not the only one who celebrates anime characters' birthdays. XD

Well, at least your anime-less days conditioned you in case something ever happens... *nods*

The animelessness of family vacations can be annoying...I tell anime related and they just blink at me. XD

Sounds so interesting, with all of the animals.

Oh yes, Baruson posted a WR fanart on BMGf that he wants you to see. ^_^

Yes! Anime character birthdays rock~!

Ah, I made up for the animelessness today. Trust me. *_*

Thanks for the heads-up on the fanart!

*Hugs*
